Has anyone ever been one? I filled out a survey of a product I bought and was sent a link to a Marketforce shopper application page. I stopped filling it out when it asked for SSN and other fishy information. It was probably a legit site, but I never feel safe with those sort of things.

That does sound dodgy. Then again not many things don't these days -_-

Haven't done secret shopper thing myself, pretty curious about it though.

Don't do stuff like that, secret shoppers are usually execs from the company itself. My first job was at safeway, and they used other managers as secret shoppers

I used to get secret shopper reports from About Face. The company I worked for used them, I looked into becoming one once, but if i recall the hours were too erratic and pay wasn't good. You also have to be able to remember the visit and answer all these questions and not act all weird, so the company doesn't know your a secret shopper.
