Is frostwire still good?

uTorrent

I buy those which I listen to regularly, starting with the lesser known bands making less money.

Ironically, I was just cleaning up my library and getting things in proper places with proper labels.

If the RIAA decided to pull their usual bullshit, I think they would charge me...

$9,000 per song x 5,967 songs = $53,703,000

Goddamn the RIAA is so fucking stupid.

Unless the laws have changed in Canada downloading songs is legal, but not uploading.

If it's band I'm really into, I'll buy their music. But I get everything from Bit Torrent and piratebay.com

uTorrent.

But I'll buy stuff that if I have to or if I feel the artist is worth it.

Evaline - Patterns EP
Lil Jon - Crunk Rock (Don't care what you say, hella worth it.)
Evaline - Postpartum Modesty, A Portrait of Skin
She Screams Remedy
A Thorn For Every Heart

I can't recall what else I have that I bought.

You guys are lightweights...

1st drive is what I let itunes see, and what I listen to on a regular basis. It's all sorted and organized and stuff.
2nd drive is where all the rest of the crap is that I need to sort thru and delete all the country and brittney spears trash I've stolen from everybody.

For those who are mathematically challenged, that's over 200g of mp3.

There's a lot on there from Napster. Yes, I am that old. The bulk of it is from leeching the fuck out of people at lan parties and whatnot. Demonoid and Pirate Bay are what I tend to use for stuff these days when I find I don't actually already have it.

Anything I really like, I try to buy. If possible, direct from the artist. That way they get their money, and it doesn't have to filter through the RIAA and they end up only seeing some 5% (or less) of the $14 I just spent.

Like her or not, Courtney Love had a great article at Salon a while back about how corrupt the recording industry is these days.
http://www.salon.com/technology/feature/2000/06/14/love

Read that, you just might learn something.
