Outstanding site for those who enjoy that whole stoner/fuzz/sludge/doom/etc rock/metal genre. Easily one of the best sites on the net for tunes, and the guy who runs it is super nice and quite generous.

Hundreds of reviews and downloadable good quality albums to grab.

Assuming you're semi-new to the genre I suggest Kyuss, Clutch, Shrinebuilder, Unida, High on Fire and of course Sabbath.

On dates I like to rape it, kill it, rape it again.

Thanks for this.
Never heard of this site before but I will check it out.

My brothers (Drummer and guitar player in numerous hardcore/punk bands) have been contributing members to this website for years.

http://www.theprp.com/

Great place for more metal-minded news.
All upcoming releases and such
Reviews are usually spot on for my taste as well.
It's also one of the few places to go for accurate and consolidated tour dates.

Good stuff, Henq. I'm checking that link now. I always love more music and spreading the word.

edit - the banner is an ad for Nevermore

They're one of my dirty little secrets. They are good, despite the cheese. They can flat out play. I hope it's a good album!!!

Pretty sure the lead singer from the band in the first article on that site http://www.theprp.com/ is IRL friends with USD or something.

What exactly is stoner metal? Oo

Personally I don't really have a favourite band, but there are a few genres that really appeal to me: Synth/Electro pop, classical, all varieties of trance, shoegaze, and the general sound of most indie pop.

edit: and cureleaf, it's not my fault D: Weena linked me this!

For an example of the extent my knowledge on this subgenre of metal, there is only one band I recognize from that list.

Many say that Black Sabbath are the earliest metal, I think Blue Cheer holds that title in terms of that heavy style.

Black Sabbath was def the first to put heavy riffs with heavy lyrics though.

"Ok we aren't such things and birds are pretty advanced. They fly and shit from anywhere they want. While we sit on our automatic toilets, they're shitting on people and my car while a cool breeze tickles their anus. That's the life."

I loved Cradle when I was in high school, and it's hard to stop liking.

BC were heavy for their time, but not Sabbath heavy. Hence Sabbath being recognized as the arguable founders.

I'm not one to argue that crap. There is always more to it than anyone ever really knows. Who's to say Geezer didn't steal a riff from some dude he saw in a pub?

I'm just thankful Hole in The Sky is a song.
