Lets face it, its fun when OTHER people get hurt, you get a cheap laugh, they get a blood transfusion. So share your grisly misfortunes with others so that they may go "ewww" or get a cheap laugh as well as they picture you screaming in agony.
2(3?) Years ago at camp as a CIT i was helping out in the kitchen. We were cutting green beans when I slip up or something, and the knife slips into my thumb, almost taking the top 1/2 inch off. Instantly i ran to the doctors office. That wasnt smart, not only was i like OMG OMG FUCK OW, but i ran a good half a KM and got my heart pumping even more. So it was pretty much spurting like in the movies, but not as much since its so fuckin far. I walk in, and point my hand at the doctor, which is covered in blood up till the wrist. He lies me down, and looks at it and i fucking hate him for what he said. "I cant freeze it because theres a nerve exposed, and because its a finger it may risk tissue damage. So im going to try and shoot some anaesthetics into the wound.
It was a terrible idea. Now i cant describe what it feels like to have something that feels icey cold shot in a microscopic stream into an open wound, and a nerve, but i assure you that it was painful. After it was done he waited a minute for it to take affect, and everything EXCEPT the actual cut in my thumb was numb. To top this all off next to the bed was a friend fo mine who was having a foot bath for his ingrown toenail. He was enjoying the show.
Then stitches came. I know stitches dont hurt much, but have you had them done with an exposed nerve? I think not. 4, with no effective anaesthetic all the while with a jerk of a friend watching the show laughing the whole time. It wasnt fun.
