So, I cut these in my back garden for my wife on Saturday. Then I arranged them in this vase.

It totally worked. /flex

not enuf time in a day/patience/dedication for a rose garden. weed garden, yes; garden garden, yes. Rose bushes take way to much work for the hassle if you want the perfect roses.

I'd rather just paint/draw/just say "i love you" than go through the hassle of rose buses.

wait.....i'd bake brownies instead of paint/draw/just say "i love you"....special brownies:

Are they trouble? Yet bet they are. Insects, feeding, fungus and the thorns make you bleed no matter how careful you try to be. The thing is, she likes them (now, I like them too). It's true that most women are happy most of the time just knowing their man would be willing to "go to all that trouble" if she really wanted him to. But guys, if you want to be a "close the deal/brag about you to her friends" kind of man, actually go to the trouble. Nothing makes the panties drop faster, and with more enthusiasm, than doing something that is a complete pain in the ass JUST FOR HER.

I'd venture that booze makes panties drop pretty fast, but it's not very classy.

But if everyone learned from Boredalt, the standard would be so high it'd be hard to stay in the game.

My attitude > your garden.

But then again they are designed for different time frames of the courtship process.

I don't even know what's going on in this thread but I'm sure I don't like it.

Agreed. This advice is definitely directed toward established relationships that tend to fall into routines and taking things for granted, and as long as I've been married, established doesn't begin to describe it. ;)

Actually, this worked out nicely. I cut/arranged the flowers early in the morning before she got up. I scored breakfast (scrambled eggs, crisp bacon, biscuits w/homemade peach preserves, and coffee), lunch (tuna on toast w/soup), and supper (slow-cooked pork tenderloin w/brown rice and black beans combined with flour tortillas into homemade Chipotle burritos). I so won this round.

/bow

I try to do stuff like this every once in a while as well, been with my wife 6 years come December. (Not long in comparison but still a long time to be with one person with how young we both are)

Settling into a 'routine' or getting over comfortable can be terrible for a relationship, partner starts thinking you take them for granted or vice-versa. Best to keep the spark alive or it will die out :)

Speaking of which this thread reminded me it is time for just such a thing at home! Thanks Boredalt
