yesterday i was in line for fajitas in my caf, and infront of me is a black guy with headphones on, all gansgsta and cool. the guy makign the fajita asks if he wants X on it, he doesnt hear cause hes a moron with music going. Then when he finaly gets his thing he starts putting his toppings on it, and takes the spoon for the sour cream uses it and then puts in the guacamole.

I roll my eyes cause hes a dumbass and take the spoon and do my thing, then a guy who works there asks "did you put that spoon from the sour cream into the guacamole?"

I say "The black guy did it." I got many looks.

Really, what's the point of it all anyway? Everything is just going to get replaced, so your achievements, your leet gear, it all means nothing.

Am I wrong? There will always be a new patch with new gear, there will be expansions which render all old gear obsolete.

Are you still seriously using items from vanilla?

As for achievements and everything else, you are aware that some day they will stop making expansions for WoW, are you not?

The game itself will die as the new Blizz MMO is released and becomes popular. So all those hours played all those achievements carefully earned, all those mounts carefully collected will mean absolutely nothing.

Aestu once talked about this romanticized version of his toon...carefully put together, with all her achievements and gear and so on...packed away in a neat little server. But what does it mean in the "real world"...anything?

I'm not bashing WoW, I will definitely end up getting Cata and playing. But I know that it is nothing but a huge time sink that supports the escapism that has become essential to our society.

Hence why I've always focused on character development.

But in Cata even that seems pointless since all raid rewards remain in place in perpetuity, so of course players will just zerg down their stone drakes or whatnot; there are few rare/oddball or "off the beaten track" things in Cata. I'm most annoyed about how all crafting recipes are totally straightforward now, as opposed to Vanilla where it really was a scavenger hunt.

The one thing I did like in the beta was the apparent return of outdoor micro-dungeons. There were quite a few things I didn't like, particularly the severe zone chat throttle, which is nothing more than Blizzard playing mommy and catering to antisocial, pusillanimous children who want to play all alone (except for loot) and cry when they get as good as they give. Barrens chat was game-making, not game-breaking.

I plan on getting Cata...trying for some server firsts...but I doubt I'll play the extended mass of the xpac.

I liked being able to solo to 60 because 95% of the playerbase was fucking garbage back then.

Azelma, your argument is a little silly to me. Does DLC for single-player games make you throw your hands in the air and complain that the time you spent beating it is all for naught now that you've got more shiny stuff to do? I don't see time spent having fun as time wasted.

Or am I the only person who plays games to have fun?
