If anyone wants to see/hear them defend themselves on a college campus, my college (Central Michigan University) is hosting Shirley Phelps-Roper and her 2 daughters and a documentary film crew on Monday (Nov 1st) on campus.

Originally this was supposed to be an example of the extremes of free speech, use of the 1st amendment and libel and malice laws in the US (Journalism Law Course), but has decided to turn into a protest/discussion of their church and Shirley's ideals and such.

So yeah, if you wanna protest/hear WBC talk about their stance on homosexuality and god and such...they'll be at Central Michigan University on November 1st (They arrive on Halloween...so it should be interesting) from around 2PM to 6PM in three 1 hour intervals talking/raging/whatevering with groups of people.

yeah....my roommate has the intention to protest them, but considering it's just gonna be 3 people who are actually showing up (the church is only about 100 people) i just decided i'm going to show up to hear them talk.

I take no sides on this matter, everyone has a right to their opinion (even if it is as dumb and asinine as this groups). I'm just gonna go there, hear what they have to say, and if they provide a logical and complete discussion i'll respect their beliefs and leave it at that....problem is their discussion is solely based upon "GOD HATE FAGS AND THATS WHY SHIT HAPPENS" and seeing as "god" is illogical and uncircumstantial, i'll find a hard time not considering them bat shit crazy.

They aren't crazy. If you don't realize the cosmic significance of sticking your penis in another man's butt, and how that causes God himself to despair, civilizations to crumble, and furthers the Chinese and Arabs' schemes to conquer Western civilization, I don't know what to say. this is not the butterfly effect, you're not ashton kutcher, and the buttflies are not actually a metaphor for assholes or assholes at all....Gay is w/e....not destroying your glorious nation like the Freikorps destroyed opposing political parties in the aftermath of WWII.

It's just a thing, if you don't like it or your cosmic entity doesn't like it he/you can just not pay attention to it. You bring attention to it in the way you just did thus influencing others to bring forth their own opinions, this downward spiral is nothing but a product of your own demise.
