Game hasn't been about actually landing your counterspells since BC. WotLK is about silences because you don't need to be good enough to actually hit them while they're casting (unless you're a rogue/warrior/shaman, and saying they need to be good is laughable) thanks to everyone dying in the 5 seconds afforded by most silences.
Fuck I hate this expansion.
More relevantly, disarms most definitely last too long. 5 sec for everyone sounds good to me, since they can't honestly expect people to keep using weapon chains at this point.
If destruction exists, we must destroy everything.
