What is it? Why?

Trust/honor. For all the rituals, contracts, etc that man performs to sanctify an agreement, if you can't trust my word, what good is anything else i have to offer?

Love

It's painful and beautiful. Romantic or platonic. It transcend species and gender and race and religion.

I love being in love. It's the most exhilarating experience ever, the highs and the lows.

'It is better to have loved and lost, than to have never loved at all.'

I remember when I was a kid and I thought honor, honesty, and decency were of supreme importance. Honor is usually an excuse for doing something stupid that good sense should tell you not to do. Honesty is a hindrance if the people you're dealing with don't share your integrity. No one cares about decency, unless they're trying to assert some special privilege by way of being "offended." All those things have their time and place, but most people have no clue when and where that time and place happens to be.

My biggest priority is my son. There's not a lot that matters after that.

My family.

My son and wife are my world and joy. Now that I know this life, without them, I'd probably become some miserable, reclusive prick that hates everyone and everything.

My parents taught me how to be a man. They raised me to appreciate hard work, be thankful for what I have, help others when I can, protect others and to always think about my actions and the consequences before I act. I'm eternally grateful to them for all they've taught me.

Relationships.

Specifically family and friends, but really I think all relationships are important. Humans are social beings, and we're all sharing this experience we call life. Having the support of others, as well as being able to offer support is critical to emotional health and true happiness.

Identity.

Powerful intelligence, creativity, and a profound will to power.
