So it sounds like I'm going to NJ the third week in June. Near Ocean City (possibly, apparently it's a 'dry' area). Nothing is concrete just yet, but probabilities are high.

Who wants to drink beer and slap dix?

Make sure you check the traffic laws, I know where my grandmother lives you cannot make left turns and the whole state is full service gas pumps only so you cannot pump your own gas. Take lots of quaters for the toll booths too, you will see what I mean.

All true. New Jersey is such a shit hole.

Edit: Although the Jersey Shore is actually pretty awesome...as long as you can avoid the guidos. They tend to gravitate to the shore points with boardwalks:

Wildwood
Atlantic City
Sea Isle
Seaside Heights

Those are the main places you should try to avoid...although, Wildwood has awesome rides on their boardwalk, so if you can handle some New York/North Jersey trash, it can be worth it.

Mom's dragging all the kids out there. We have some family out there as well. I imagine she knows what's up, she grew up a large part over there.

Said something about Atlantic City, and how the Indian casinos here aren't anything compared to the grand ones over there.

All I know is we'll be out there for a week and I don't want to spend a whole week with them.

What do I need to know about fishing around there?

Is there places I can fish off shore/docks?

I'm in Central Jersey (in the summer) so I'll get beer with you one night.

And never having to pump my own gas is awesome.

Is paying extra for that "privilege" awesome?

Also...it's lame when there's like one attendant. My dad parked at this stop in Jersey once, and the one attendant was taking his sweet time with another car. So my dad said screw and pumped his own gas. The attendant was pissed, we all had a good laugh.

Gas costs me less in NJ than in NY. I'll take the full service.

Yeah, but it's artificially low, counter balanced by high property taxes and tolls, and the state is still dealing with a deficit because of the cheap gas. The entire mandatory full service is inefficient too, forcing companies to pay extra employees that are simply not needed in other states.

From "The High Price of New Jersey's Cheap Gasoline Tax"

Quote:
While New Jersey residents pay the highest property taxes in the U.S., they pay surprisingly little to fill up their gas tanks. The state's gasoline levy is the third-lowest in the U.S., undercut only by Wyoming and Alaska, according to data from the American Petroleum Institute. A gallon of regular unleaded fuel in the Garden State now averages $2.68, far cheaper than in New York, where the average is $2.97, and in Pennsylvania, where it's $2.83. The national average is $2.82 a gallon, according to the American Automobile Association.

New Jersey drivers not only get gas cheaply but they're also prohibited by state law from pumping it themselves. The state, whose dense population breeds mammoth traffic congestion, has paid a high price for this perk and for its cheap gas. Commuting in New Jersey, however, is not cheap. Drivers pay high tolls on bridges, tunnels, the New Jersey Turnpike and the Garden State Parkway. Many commuters also pay steep prices to park their cars at train stations.

What doesn't New Jersey have that isn't bad? lol. Everything involving money here is bad. I'm pretty sure, but no positive, but I think we've got the highest taxes for everything. All we get is a complimentary show about our beaches :(, and I have a beach house down there :(. It's impossible to escape the New Jersey lifestyle anywhere!
