Hahahaha, that sums up my answer to "why do you keep a hundred books about what you're supposed to know and have learned?"
Explaining something that went on in this documentary:
A scientist with the intelligent design virus on the brain finds something out, doesn't understand it and invokes intelligent design as the hypotheses (confirmation bias), runs with it and some interested parties spin it.
Another scientist without the virus on the brain takes a look at it and finds the solution to the problem easily.
Normally, the scientist would have tried to think of other hypotheses, and if he really couldn't figure out the solution he would have published his finding and said that further investigation is warranted. Not understanding something is normal and it happens everyday to everyone. Invoking intelligent design as a modern scientist means that you believe that if you can't explain it, then no one currently can and no one ever will. It takes a level of arrogance.
This inspired me to spend 5 seconds and make this:
