I like how they try to play it off like he got shot for being a rapper. If thats the case, musicians only get mowed down gangstyle if they're rappers. I dont know of any country or rock bands that got killed by a drive by. Rap needs to take one good hard look at itself.

When I was a young boy I remember my family throwing a party after my grandmothers funeral. I raged at the party when I saw everyone laughing and smiling because I didn't understand what there was to be happy about. My cousin pulled me aside and explained that it wasn't a celebration of her death but a celebration of her life.

Right, but an example from a hundred years ago doesn't disprove the fact that rap culture breeds violence more than any other music medium.

The things most of these people do to get shot they would still do without rap. The music certainly glorifies the thug mentality and the various dangerous and stupid actions, but it's not "rap culture" that's getting these people killed.

Now, I'm not saying your quote is wrong, because there is more violence between rappers based on quarrels within the business, but just because a rapper gets shot doesn't make it a rap culture issue.
