Looks like GTA with a noire twist. What's the gameplay like? The commercials piss me off because they just show random cut scenes I assume...where's my in game preview?

It is on the same level as Red Dead Redemption. It's basically a detective suspense movie that plays like Red Dead. It's GOTY quality and has my vote.

It's very good, but there are some problems with it.

First, the facial tech is pretty good, but it feels kind of odd if the character is moving. It's hard to describe exactly, but some characters look like they've got gummy necks, the body moves aren't quite syncing up with where the face is moving. It's as if the face was placed in it's space first, then the body was just modeled to stretch oddly to keep up with it. The lips tend to tear and fuzz when talking at times as well.

The interviewing is interesting, there are some clear tells, but it's not always that easy. You have 3 options when a person gives an answer, you believe them, you doubt them, or you call them out on a lie. The choices are always the same, but the response can be different. For example, at times I would think someone was just holding back a little. I didn't have evidence of a lie and they weren't being truthful, so I had to choose doubt. Instead of just pressing the poor person who just lost their spouse a little, my character would threaten to fuck their mothers eyes out while my partner pulls out a blackjack.

In order to accuse someone of lying, you must have evidence of the lie. Collecting evidence is pretty straightforward. Walk around, hit a button when you hear a chime or a rumble. The music changes when you've cleared an area of clues.

One of the things I liked is that it's more open-ended than I thought it would be. There are always doubts as to who did the crime (at least on the homicide desk there was), even once you've charged someone it doesn't always quite all add up.

The atmosphere is great, they nailed it. There's also one save file, and it only auto-saves. Blow an interview and you can't go back and reload, though you can replay the cases.

Overall it's been worth it.

Nah it doesn't matter who you accuse in the end, it's about how many clues you found, how many speech options you got right, and how much damage you caused (less is better). Not all cases come down to two suspects, there's a good amount of variety.
