all politicians are the same:

You may now commence to hating on Obama like you hated on Bush.

But you won't.

You're exactly right. Fuck the Patriot Act.

Fuck Bush for making it.

Fuck Obama for extending it.

And fuck the American public for continuing to have our heads in the sand while we slowly give up our rights because of fear.

You gave up the right to the illusion of privacy.

Not that I think they've gone through YOUR shit in particular, but it wouldn't be the first time the government did something illegal.

The patriot act is bad from the ground up, and while i dont like it, I understand how it came to be. I just think its time to repeal it.

There is a difference between whatever vague notion you have and a law that runs directly counter to the fourth amendment.

Not to some people. I'm not saying its happened, but just because its against the law doesn't negate any possibility of it occuring.

Again, there is a difference between something being wrong and unlawful, and that same thing being wrong and federally approved. Yes, it could still happen. No one said it couldn't. People could rape babies, that doesn't invalidate outrage if the government passes a law making it ok.

Oh I'm sorry, I thought a liberal President renewing an act hated by his entire base would be newsworthy.

Did you not get that?

A right to privacy isn't a guaranteed right anywhere. There is no actual right(s) to privacy.

You have property rights and personal rights. Both of which allude to privacy rights: you have the right not to let anyone in your house or the right to leave your clothes on.

Not that I agree with the Patriot Act.

"Ok we aren't such things and birds are pretty advanced. They fly and shit from anywhere they want. While we sit on our automatic toilets, they're shitting on people and my car while a cool breeze tickles their anus. That's the life."

I've heard about it a number of times the last day or two. It was on our local news, it was on the radio show I was listening to this morning at work, it's all over the internet, and it just went across the ticker on fox.

As it pertains to the patriot act it is:

The right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be violated, and no Warrants shall issue, but upon probable cause, supported by Oath or affirmation, and particularly describing the place to be searched, and the persons or things to be seized.
