To Whom it May Concern,

I have been on these forums for some time. During that time, I have only had one avatar. However, I would like a new avatar...yet I am prevented from uploading it due to the extremely oppressive size limits placed upon me and my fellow forum goers. As a man who stands for liberty, justice, and bandwidth; this oppression greatly offends me. It is unjustifiable in our modern age! Surely, there must be some way of increasing it? The limit is 1MB. I feel that it would be quite reasonable to request that it be increased to 2MB.

Then, I could upload this avatar, which happens to be 1.74MB:

Your image is 200x150. Reduce the image dimensions and it'll most likely come in at under 1MB.

Interestingly, imgur seems to add a couple kilobytes to animated gifs I upload, putting it on photobucket doesn't.

Not too happy with the aliasing in the back, I'm a see if I can do something a little different too.

Fortunately the limit is 1024 not 1000.

Also i'm not gunna fix the aliasing on those black bars, I'm amazed enough that with only 31 colors (total) it looks that good.

So since the second of Tehra's resize attempts was still just 2kb over, I'm still wondering if this limit could be raised verrrry slightly?

I guess it's more correct to say that the limit is 1,048,576 bytes, rather than 1024 KB, so it can't be misunderstood.

I've decided to convey this in image form since we're already doing that.

Dear Crypticapotamus, I freely admit I am bad at computers and am not sure how to resize an animated gif without downloading and installing some program, so I guess part of me is asking for help with that (if someone already has such a program, since I tried MS paint and after one looked assumed it wouldn't work). Still, I think we should have more bandwidth, and this forum should be able to crunch things down to 150x150 automatically. That would be sweet. Sincerely, Derpapotamus

150x112, but alas, too big. 131x98, 1002 KB. If you want to complain, complain that your gif has a message conveyed through text on a high framerate & color background, versus something like eturnal's, which keeps it simple (yet retarded). Even my "sitting inside a torus" twirly avatar was smaller than a meg.

Psst, if something that's 1002KB doesn't work, something that's 1010KB won't work either, regardless of imgur/photobucket.

"derpa.gif" "derpa2.gif" 1002KB file becomes 975KB upon post and redownload from imgur. You're losing track of what I've said. Do we really want to continue this dance?

We're just getting different outcomes. It still is a 975.11KB file after I download it or in firefox. IN ANY EVENT I think there's a useable .gif in here somewhere for this guy.
