Post subject:  Video/Music Sub-forum

I liked Mayo's idea of a sub-forum for videos, and I think it would be a better place for music as well. Single threads on such diverse topics just don't work for discussion.

My proposal would be a new forum, a dumping and discussion place for both videos and music. The rules would be lax, and while someone could request a genre sticky, no rules would be enforced to keep threads in said genre.

For Example: In this new sub-forum Weena requests a Heavy Metal sticky. One is created and much rocking and devil worship ensues therein. However, if Jubber creates a new thread about his favorite heavy metal song, the thread will remain unmolested. The stickies being more of a suggestion than an internment camp.

Music threads aren't the issue I just think the set-up would work nicely. As for video threads, I really don't want to check fubu and see a diarrhea of 30 threads about videos that are all over the internet anyway. @thread aren't bad, but I really do think the video threads will clog up the main board too much.

I think you should wait until the first vote passes, as some people's votes for this thread (including mine) depend on that decision.

All of the choices in the other poll are shit. Neither one thread nor junk all over fubu are good outcomes.

Neither are sub forums because we've seen how successful subforums have been in the past.

Entirely this. Not to mention my patience is wearing way too thin when it comes to people coming to a consensus, not liking how it pans out, then bitching when the mods enforce the rules that we all agreed on. If these sub-forums get created, it'll be permanent and expect large amounts of moderation for the videos/movies.

Do you have to super mod everything to feel important?

Not really. I'm referencing when we made subforums for political debates and personal info. We made the boards and people posted in them, but some people still insisted to post these threads in the fubu board. Mods moved the threads and people got pissed, claiming that the other boards move too slow.

Eventually, these boards were removed and merged with FUBU. I was fine with this, but I see the same thing happening now and I'm not doubling back on it.

Also, I wouldn't have to "super-mod" if people made the oh-so-difficult process of posting in a sticky as opposed to making a new thread entirely.
