In your retarded world, being open minded is a bad thing. In the real world, being open minded is considered a mature, quality trait (again, at least form my experience).
Fant sort of has a point here. I constantly see people with college educations being demonized as the "liberal elite" and there's the whole idea of "I want my president to FEEL, not THINK", which caught Obama a lot of flak with the way he handled Libya, considering he waited for allies instead of dragging an unwilling world and an unwilling nation into an all-out war.
This is very true. There's a whole stigma about learning/higher education in general ("liberal elites"). My father (a staunch conservative) used to rage about college campuses teaching "liberal bullshit" to all their students (usually whenever one of me or my siblings would come home with a liberal viewpoint about abortion or something).
I used to be very conservative (because my parents were), and actually voted for Bush when I was 18 (I'm not proud of it, but I made the best decision according to my 18-year-old brain). However, then I went to college, experienced quite a bit...took some really eye-opening classes and became significantly more "liberal" or "left". So much so that I went from being far right to being a left-leaning moderate.
Across the board, the more education you obtain, the more "liberal" you become (obviously there are exceptions, but that's the trend...talk to most people with a PhD, and I bet they voted for Obama.)
