I don't mind that Osama's dead. I wouldn't have killed him myself, but then again I don't think I'd be capable of killing Hitler if I had the chance. I am a little annoyed at the apparent bloodthirstiness of the population. What have we really gained?

I doubt him dying brought closure to many people - I'm not even sure that was the purpose of ending his life. He died because he had to. There was no good to come of letting that bastard live another day. If this is all true, I'm glad he's dead. What other option did we have? Should we have captured him and let him run through the legal system, taking advantage of appeal after appeal only so some law-school schmuck could come to his defense in hopes to get his sentence reduced or stayed? It's not like he would've ratted out his organization in an effort to spare his life! To answer your question I don't think we would have gained anything from taking him alive. We did lose something, though; one crazy nut-bag that was the head of an evil organization that was hell-bent on killing anyone not like him/them... and maybe the only thing the world gained an ounce of security with his death - in light of all that he's plotted and done I'm not sure it's enough of a gain, but it's more good than he's done with his stay on this planet.

It took us 10 years and an unknown amount of billions of dollars and civillian's lives to hunt down the figurehead that has no real power structure that can have Osama replaced three times in ten minutes.

I hope you're happy.

PS: I'm arguing with a very close friend of mine about this and says that he's happy that Osama was killed as he lead the "Muslim Agenda". Hooooo boy.

well, according to the fbi, he never did 9/11 as he was never formally charged with it due to lack of evidence showing direct support.

yes, even the videos don't count.

I wonder if this means we'll be getting our rights back.

I think it's pretty funny watching conservatives straining to pat bush on the back for this. Nevermind that fact that only 6 months after 9-11 he said: "I don’t know where bin Laden is. I have no idea and really don’t care. It’s not that important. It’s not our priority.”

10 years those pieces of shit said "Democrats want the terrorists to win" and now Obama did what his predecessor couldn't or wouldn't and now they're the ones crying about ending the wars they've started. I hope he puts his balls in their faces about it.

May 1st is a ritualistic sacrifice day. Hence my quotes around Hitler & Bin Laden's deaths.

It's Beltane, a time when the worlds collide for a bit. You really should stop devoting so much time to being a fanboy of those types.

Probably not. We're still at war with the group and until their ideaology is destroyed (however in the hell we do that) then our freedoms will remain limited as is.

Let's be honest - Neither of us is losing sleep at night over the Patriot Act since we're not the people DHS is actively looking for. Sure, we might not agree with the measures, but I doubt we've been violated as individuals.

I hope you're happy.

What do you suggest we should have done and how would your suggestion have made things any different?

ITT civilian college students talking about islamic extremists who they studied in their MSNBC textbooks.

Verily, I have often laughed at weaklings who thought themselves proud because they had no claws.
