Because a photo coming out from the actual white house releases, not a "leak," would be enough proof for me BECAUSE of the fact they released it. Don't talk to me like I'm stupid because I don't trust my government.

It's hardly the first time a US president announced to the world an outright lie, Laelia. I'm old enough to remember several occasions.

I'm not saying presidents don't lie, but it seems odd that you would accept an easily faked "proof" when his word isn't enough. If Obama is lying about this, he could easily lie about the nature of a photo, too.

Now that I think about it, if someone asks, "Do you think he's that stupid," my answer is going to be, "The same guy that talks about energy independence, but shuts down our domestic drilling while giving 2 billion to Brazil to develop their own? He could be, but the message of "HEY EVERYONE THIS IS THE PHOTO NOW FUCK OFF" would bring him big points in my court. You act like I don't want to believe him. I want to, and I want him to own what we did.

Oh, I don't know that you could fault us on that. Faked evidence is all the rage here. Emma Watson is leaving Brown because somebody photo-shopped her head onto some topless tits, and Democrats were pretty quick to believe that faked memo that got Dan Rather fired. There's probably more than a few that still believe it despite it being proved a fraud, or as Dan Rather has put it, even if the evidence is fake, the story is true.

I'm pretty sure there are experts that can confirm whether or not an image has been altered, so there's that, as well.

The whole thing has stunk from top-to-bottom, not releasing the photo is kind of the icing on the cake.

Experts wouldn't convince anyone about the photo. Regardless of the actual accuracy of the photo, the CIA would say their analysis confirms it's real, conspiracy theorists would say their analysis confirms it's a fake. It would be the same thing as the moon landing photos - people point out things in the photos that support their view and then continue to believe whatever they thought before they saw the photos.

Just remember what they did with his birth certificate. That should tell you what kind of reaction he expects from releasing OBL photos.

There's no worse feeling than that millisecond you're sure you are going to die after leaning your chair back a little too far.

No one will say anything if he makes sure they are long-form OBL photos.

I'm fairly certain that despite the amount of noise they make, both moon-landing conspiracy theorists and (persistent) birthers are very much the minority. There's no reason not to release at least the photographic evidence.
