It's hardly facerolling when Rich Guy A says something to Rich Guy B that Rich Guy A had to pay Poor Guy A to write (you know as well as I do Obama doesn't write anything he publicly reads) after Rich Guy B is taking/given credit for making Rich Guy A (who is supposedly the most powerful man in the world) for releasing something Rich Guy A was entirely reluctant to release. High five to Rich Guy A for laughing it off and making it look like it didn't bother Rich Guy A any but since Rich Guy A waited forever it looks like Rich Guy B bullied the hell out of Rich Guy A, and for that are lols.

As I said, I am amazed at how some people are now ever so concerned about the effect these pictures will have on the mindset of barbarians on the other side of the globe despite their giddy glee over (the prospect of) releasing the photos from Abu-Graib. Thanks for illustrating, Mayo, you make things so much easier by being a hot-headed know-it-all smart-as.

I really can't believe how sensitive that group is. I mean I see people shit talking christianity(sometimes deservedly so, catholic priest/choir boys) all the time, and we don't set fire to buildings over it.

People will do what they will, i suppose.

My parents are in Europe for another 10 days, so fuck any of you who don't care about what might happen to Americans overseas.

There's no worse feeling than that millisecond you're sure you are going to die after leaning your chair back a little too far.

Unlike you, I don't live in a fantasy land where everyone lives in contented harmony so long as all they see is unicorns farting rainbows at puppies. Our troops are already at risk, just by virtue of where they are and what they're doing, and also simply by virtue of OBL getting tucked in for his dirt nap. The picture is going to come out eventually anyway, because someone is going to FOIA Request it, and despite any dragging of feet, there's not going to be any legitimately compelling interest in withholding it. Better to release it now why the pot is already stirred than later just to bring it back to a boil. Not showing the picture isn't going to make the jihadis any less inclined to murder people, just as showing it isn't going to make them any more so. They're already inclined to be a pain in the ass, and anything we do is incentive/justification as far as they're concerned. At least with this photo(s?), no one can point at it and say, "See? The Americans are exactly what they said we are!" A guy with a bullet in his head isn't exactly great marketing material.

The precedent for releasing disturbing/inciting photographs was already set with the Abu-Graib release...by people who share your views. Now that precedent isn't convenient for you/them, and we're supposed to ignore it? Sorry, but that's not the way it works.
