It is.
Else you run out of money or crafting things.
You will die. Many times.

But if you're just running from objective to objective without much fighting. Not so much. Just grab whatever is close to you when you find it. You don't have to completely loot every area and its not a good idea to once you pass the resort.

I rented it for the weekend and got 93% through with the game. Was fun but L4D is still the better zombie game.

and yes loot all the mats, you'll be finding more mods and you're gonna want to be change your weapon into something badass

I only bought L4D because my girlfriend loves it i personally don't like the whole idea of hey im pretty much invincible as long as i keep throwing off 100 zombies on me at once

For the most part Dead Island is the same way. With the exception of the 3+ groups of infected everything is easy. Big guys are just a matter of having an explosive or having your fury/rage/whateverit'scalled up. Even then they're easily avoided if you can't/won't fight it. Kick is op and I've killed more zombies by kicking them to death than anything else.

There were some hard parts, but it was my own dumb idea to go down the utility tree first instead of the other two. Now that I'm pretty deep in the second tree the game is a breeze. I took the firearms chick, but I only uses guns on humans and some of the big guys, so most of the time my strength is kinda wasted. Her rage is nice though, I don't know about the others but I can drop anything with that, the damage is massive.

The money is kinda meh, you'll need it for some things, but honestly when I do melee zombies I just used the basic stuff. Mods are neat but don't do anything too great from what I've seen. Luggage is mostly money, but cabinets and the like are more likely to have modification items, which you definitely want. Stock up on deodorant.

but soon enough you can play all of those on a pc.

wii emulation already works. ps3 emulation is starting to work, and nobody cares about the 360 because why would you play shooters on a controller.

on topic: dead island is basically borderlands. if you have a group of bros it's awesome. if you're alone, it isn't anything special. although the city was pretty awesome, definitely enjoyed that segment more then any amount of L4D just because i actually felt the need to run away instead of killing everything in sight.

also this is pretty much sums up why you should be playing it on PC. modding. already a couple of them out there to up the GARFIX, weather, difficulty etc, but this one is basically perfect.

1) you felt the need to run away from a game where you can kick zombies over and over and they fall down = you're just admitting to being bad
2) you havent played enough l4d

1.) You can't kick every zombie in horde before one grabs and they all assrape you.
2.) True.
