Suit yourselves. I'm benefiting from having been born luckier than you. You're helping me keep it that way.

You always have the option to donate all your wealth away tuhl. I don't see any rich people asking for taxes leading the charge by donating their way back into a shitty apartment.

Still, not everyone with wealth is born to it. A lot of people work all their lives to be successful.

I'm with jubber on the irony that people with really expensive gadgets are out shit talking the rich.

and the fact that they dress like they steal from goodwill is even funnier to me.

Capitalism didn't create those things. People did.

You say that we should "want more" but that seems to only apply within self-imposed ideological confines.

Any ideological confine, if there has to be any at all, SHOULD be self imposed.

How is it funny? Are you that shallow and materialistic?

This thread has provided a new light on how retarded some of you are.

I took it to mean that it was funny that they had expensive gadgets and shitty clothes which I see nothing wrong with unless you like wasting 500 dollars on a pair of shoes just for some name brand.

Or he thought it was just funny that they were in shitty clothes.

Either way you look at it, it's stupid.

glhf spending hundreds of dollars on a name.

What's funny about the "dressing like they steal from Goodwill" is that you know they're doing it on purpose. Because we've stopped teaching that poverty is something terrible, and that you should avoid the kind of bad decisions that lead to it, and started teaching that it's some kind of a virtue and that no one who is poor is where they are through any fault of their own, looking 'poor,' whether you are or not, is important to these people. You can't slap a label on it, but if you could, they'd be lined up at Hollister buying the latest hobo fashions. Anyone that can afford expensive electronics should be able to afford better clothes.

Also, they're terrible at looking "poor," because I shop at Goodwill and Salvation Army on the regular and I don't look as bad as any of those morons. Showering and washing my clothes may be part of that, though.

Jubber

Define better clothes and why "better" has anything to do with money.

Better to me is something you like or that is comfortable and often times neither one of those involve lots of money.

Is this to say that poverty is terrible? That lesser clothing in the eyes of society lead to poverty? That being thrifty is a bad thing, especially in this economy?

I'm not saying it's a virture but I don't think it's entirely bad.

In regards to the funny about dressing poor part, I'll assume it was made obvious elsewhere in this thread or in one of the links contained therein. I skimmed the thread for the most part so my apologies if my assumptions weren't on the mark.

If you're camping out in a park with no change of clothing even the best threads will wrinkle.

As far as electronics go, this generation falls under the belief that those items are required to remain competitive and will cling to them like flotation devices. They're also crucial to getting footage out to others who are supporting them (the park actually has their own mailman now from the donations flowing in).

Your investors and traders are on broadcast television bragging of the impending collapse and how they're going to profit from it.

Yet, it's "cooler" to mock those who actually are doing something by those who are committed to slinging googled links.

Change is coming, regardless of the peanut butter and jelly gallery's input.

I think we're cutting close to the bone here.
