I don't think he ever tossed a few million to the third apple founder, Ronald Wayne. Poor guy sells rare coins and shit after selling his 10% share in Apple for $800. Yes, 10% would be worth $35B now, but he hit rough times and resisted going back.

STILL

Jobs and Wozniack could afford to help him out a bit. Unless I hear something countering this, I'm not going to budge from my dislike of Jobs.

RIP all the same though.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ronald_Wayne

Quote:
Wayne also stated that he felt the Apple enterprise "would be successful, but at the same time there would be bumps along the way and I couldn't risk it. I had already had a rather unfortunate business experience before. I was getting too old and those two were whirlwinds. It was like having a tiger by the tail and I couldn't keep up with these guys"

Why should Jobs and Woz give him anything? Steve Jobs tried to recruit him back to Apple and he resisted. I understand it sucks for him...but he let his fear of failure prevent him from going in on it. Jobs and Woz are supposed to compensate him for a company HE gave up on...or didn't want to keep up with? I'm sorry, but WAT?

I just don't see how you can blame the two for this. HE decided to leave Apple, he wasn't forced to sell his shares, he did so by himself. They even tried to get him to come back and he refused.

That's like a guy quitting on a team after the first two games of the season because he's afraid of getting injured, then when the team wins the Superbowl, you expect them to give the guy a ring anyway because "it's the right thing to do" or something?

I don't understand how you can hold this against Jobs at all. He and Woz were willing to accept all the risk because they believed in it...Wayne claims he believed in it, but didn't want any risk, yet he is somehow owed money?

Actually i think if you play on a football team for one snap of a season in which they win the superbowl, you get the ring.

otherwise good metaphor.

God damn it.

Well the point still stands. Why should Jobs and Woz give that guy something he didn't want to take the risk to earn?

Nah he has a grudge against jobs because of it

I agree with the "aww poor guy" sentiments though. I feel the same way about The Beatles drummer before Ringo Starr (Pete Best), and every dumbass publisher who passed on Harry Potter.

Actually the decisions on who gets rings is up to the team that wins the superbowl. The NFL gives the winner money to buy the rings and the team executives decide who gets em.

anyway RIP Steve Jobs.

No wonder there has been an influx of Apple -shit- products. They're all shitty and unnecessary.

Good riddance.

P.S. The blonde in Meowth's link is fkn gorgeous.

They had nearly no risk at ages 21 & 25. He had stuff that creditors could seize. THEY had no risk. HE did. This is, of course, in addition to the fact that they could wipe their asses with a million bucks whereas he's get out of that damn trailer park with a million bucks. If MY toilet paper could do that, I'd be donating it left and right.

Regardless, this just boils down to the "Too bad, so sad" argument versus "They'd have nothing w/o him" argument.

I must be thinking of MLB then. There was a guy who played the first half of the season with one team, the second with the other, and both went to the series, so he was guaranteed a ring no matter what.

You should be thanking Microsoft and the gubment that Apple didn't go under years ago. Most of what Apple has done was take mediocre hardware and put a pretty ribbon on it and sell it for 2-3 times as much.
