So I'm at work today, and if you're wondering what I do, I'm a cart herder (at least I was today).

So we have these stupid racecar carts that you can put two small kids in and they ride around. There's blue ones and red ones.

A lady comes in with two sons, and in their excitement they run right over to the area where the race carts are. The one boy says "Let's get this one!" as he tries climbing into a blue one.

His brother says "No this one!" as he climbs into a red one. "The red ones go faster!".

Upon hearing this, I say "WAAAGH!".

And he repeats me in kind, flailing his arms. I was tempted to give him every Dum-Dum in my pocket. I'm guessing dad's a 40k fan.

I love you.

I almost said that to the kid, but I think that might have ruined the moment.

I have no idea to what you're referring, but still genuinely enjoyed this tale.

Kids are so great. I always feel weird at work though. I'm obviously younger than the average father. Like having a conversation with a customer twice my age with a child half my kids' age, and I'll make some 'I remember those days' comment and get funny looks til I explain.

I've had quite my share of customers with amazingly awesome kids. Most recent was one with a little girl, must've been 7 or 8. I was wearing my TMNT t-shirt and she was like 'I love your shirt!'

I thanked her and joked with her Dad (maybe mid 30s) that it was nice to see parents raising their children right by having them watch 80s cartoons over what is on tv nowadays. We had a good laugh

Taking an extended hiatus from gaming

I took CJ to see the new Ghost Rider movie this weekend, and I was very pleased when he said, "Hey, that's the Highlander guy!" Christopher Lambert plays a crazy tattooed priest. Old guy on the other side of us chuckled and said, "it sure is." I've been getting him to watch lots of old stuff lately. He still runs up behind me and does the whole "I AM DA DWED PIWATE WOBERTS, I AM COME FOR YOU SOUL" bit. Watching old stuff like that with your kids is fun as shit.
