Get mad fanboys!

Quote:
Diablo III is mostly very slick. It’s a very decent game. The first three hours are very gratifying, a sense of having everything done right. It’s an aRPG born of decades of experience, streamlined and minimalist to the point of diamond-like perfection. But much like a perfect diamond, it bears a lot in common with a bit of glass. That all-encompassing need to Just Keeping Clicking is there, the sense of continuous, satisfactory progress is in place. You’re never not improving your equipment, skills and crafting abilities. It’s the concept of Diablo, and of a decade’s Diablo clones, refined. But with absolutely nothing new.

Blizzard isn't the only company with fanboys.

Considering the AH has been down almost every time I was on last week, I don't think so.

I always thought Diablo was about grinding through content to get better gear, just to grind through the 'same' content to get better gear. If you remove the reason to grind through content (other than "I LIEK GRINDING THROUGH CONTENT") then what else is there to play for?

Serious question.

Like Lucinth said, you grind to get gold so you can buy gear for your mans. The drop rates for stuff are abysmal in D3 and the chance that you're going to get a decent upgrade to something you already have just by playing the game is astronomically small. I'd much rather play through the game with my friends, get gold, and get upgrades from there than to bash your head in farming a boss hundreds of times by yourself for a .00001% chance. You know, like WoW.

I'm finding myself not liking this game anymore, I put 50+ hours into it in the first 4 days

I found your problem, you played it for every waking moment for 4 days straight. There's a lot of problems with diablo and I'm not a fan of the idea that they're trying to make this into LFD 2.0, what with adding people pubbies to your friends list (and making them impossible to remove) and the introduction of this stupid general chat while not being able to make custom channels. Its a Diablo clone that a bunch of my rl friends play. I'm becoming a pretty big fan of coming home from work, logging on, cracking open a beer, and talking to my friends on mumble while punching the skeletons out of people or vomiting bees.

EDIT: I can't stand playing the game by myself for anything more than a hour, but I'm hating the idea that you have to be connected online to play single player more and more. If you have literally no intention to interact with anyone else while playing your video game, there's literally no reason for you to be locked out for tuesday maintenance.

Game is good, but it's not $60 / 6+ years in development good.

I agree, but at the same time, making a "perfect" Diablo 3 would be literally impossible. I really like what they did with some stuff and hate what they did with other stuff. I'm pretty sure if the WD wasn't in the game, I'd demand my money back, however.

If everything they put in was working (auction house, logins, etc) I would think the game was fantastic.

It COULD be, but it just isn't right now.

I play just about every game that way when I have the time. I didn't mean that I was burnt out from playing a lot. I meant that after putting 50ish hours into it and being 60th level and done with Hell and really wanting to clear Inferno I was presented with the options of

1) Grinding Act1 Infero / Act3-4 Hell to get gold / gear to sell so that I could pay mages for there good luck(the only good drops I got were itemized for Barbs and I was playing through with my friend who plays a Barb so he got it all instead of me getting easy gold, he also failed to get good drops for me)

2) Level more chars and throw all there gold /gold from drops at my "main"(or who ever ended up with the best gear)

3) Go do something else with my time

It was not a very hard choice because the more I thought about it the more I realized that Inferno was not any more difficult then Hell had been. You just need to farm up more gear so its doable. There isn't really any strategy/skill involved(and I shouldn't have hoped for it in a button mash Gauntlet 10.0 kind of game) it's just a matter of "Am I going to get 2 shot as soon as I get in range of that Rare or am I going to be able to regen/kite my way through it". It feels just like modern wow in that respect, there was a time that you could skill your way through encounters in wow with an awesome strat or just plain cheese it, now its just do your dps do enough dmg to beat enrages(READ GEAR) and do your healers have enough throughput / regen to keep everyone alive through the trickle dmg(READ GEAR) and does your tank have enough health and mitigation to live through the boss hits(READ GEAR).

At least in wow the rotations/numbers of ability's and things that make you move your feet are complex enough that its somewhat hard to get the max out of your gear, D3 seems to just be if ranged spam all your dmg then kite repeat until dead and melee is rotate CD's and pray you live then kite and repeat. Just disappointing but I don't play a lot of hack and slash games so I came in without a good idea of what I was getting(and I didn't pay for it, I got the annul sub since I knew I would still be playing wow).

Game is better than anything to come out since 2004.

Got bored of my previous build, now I'm gonna try something like this if the servers ever come up. Figures on my one off day this week this happens :(

Better pick up some vitality if Spirit Walk is your only defensive CD. And naw, I don't consider hex to be a reliable defensive CD.

I exclusively play my WD with my friend's barb and I was playing with danzor too before he sped ahead of all of us. I was messing around with the spec earlier today and I constantly poop out fetishes as well, which is another little form of defense.

That is my current WD build, only just started Inferno last night so i don't know how well it will fare in the long term. I will assume 'not well at all'. BBV isn't a major there, i think the Army might be a better cooldown since it can pull aggro. /shrug

RMAH has a cap on dollar value you can set for an item. Prices will go up eventually but not at bumfuck retarded levels like Runescape has.

That you actually think I'm talking about dollar inflation is telling.

It happens in every single game over time. What else do you want me to think?

Act 1 Inferno for Monk, "Fuck! Gotta dodge the plague, FUCK ARCANE SENTRIES! Damn... Got them down 1/2, only 1/2 to go."
Act 1 Inferno for fresh 60 Demon Hunter, "Oh, you're a champion pack. I didn't even notice over the giant numbers."

Working as intended.

Sounds like someone hasn't actually tried demon hunter.

I'm perfectly willing to believe it's easier. It is not, however, easy. And if you don't have room to kite, kiss your ass goodbye.
