I'm 0-2 against wild pets so far in Pokéwow v________v

I really don't think it required that much effort at all compared to say making an instance. It's just numbers. Seems like great ROI.

I made a trial account (since they're free and last forever) in attempt to pokebattle but you have to reach level 5 first and it kept crashing so I said fk it.

Keep at it! I wanna pokebattle! :)

I bought it for my girlfriend.

I looked at the Monk trees and gave her character advice.

Played the Monk for about 5 minutes and got bored.

MoP heroics give 60 VP for the first per day, 30 VP for each thereafter...

lol.

Many daily quests give very small amounts of VP (5-15 ea) but overall reaching the weekly VP cap will be much more time intensive.

So...gold cap for trial accounts is 10g. Pet Battle Training is 95g. Owned.

I think I could pay for a month on my account and buy it there which should activate it on my trial but fuck it.

Congratulations! You've been selected to participate in the beta test of World of Warcraft? Mists of Pandaria?

As a beta test participant, you'll experience the new content and features of Mists of Pandaria before the expansion is released. Help the Alliance and Horde explore a strange world cloaked in mists, and wage war against the mysterious Sha energy that threatens to engulf the land. A whole new continent awaits!

Your feedback will directly impact the quality of the final game -- our developers are standing by!

Seems legit.

Anyway, interesting stuff:

Sales seem to be way down...though they admit digital download numbers aren't available.

General reviews are pretty lukewarm: http://www.computerandvideogames.com/37 ... arcrafter/

Oh and did you know WoW subscribers dipped below 10million for the first time since 2008 in August? Looks like MoP isn't doing much to get people back.

MoP makes one really want to hate it, while at the same time being clever enough to have some appeal. Appeal that isn't strong enough to make one love the game.

PokeWoW is much more fun than anticipated. The cooking and gardening (yes, gardening) quests, on the other hand, are unnecessarily grindy and annoying and made obtrusive by phasing and the idiotic decision to give an a idyllic-looking neutral village TB-style guards instead of just making it a Sanctuary.

Itemization makes absolutely no sense. In MoP, it is necessary to be Honored with the factions to spend JP on rewards. But one does not earn faction through dungeons, and levelling doesn't give much either unless one finishes a quest chain (MoP questing is absolutely the worst way to level in all respects). It is only practical to level rep through dailies that must be unlocked through quest chains. Yet the JP rewards are inferior to the very abundant drops from "heroic" fivemans. (There are no normals, so heroics are in essence the new normals, just like those restaurants that don't serve 'Small' 'Medium' and 'Large', only 'Large' 'Jumbo' and 'Super').

Many players already outgear fivemans. Blizzard preserved the very bad idea of allowing players to exploit the iLvL checker with cloth etc. And the fivemans are so woefully undertuned that I can easily zerg them down in my level 85 tank gear. By the end of today I expect to be done with LFR. Dungeon loot tables are way too small (3-6 items per boss).

MoP also has incredible stagflation/deflation. It is extremely obvious that the supply of mats far outstrips demand, but there isn't nearly enough gold in drops quests etc to satisfy nominal player needs. MoP cloth is already being made into bandages to be vendored, just like Runecloth in vanilla. Most players are already starting to vendor greens, too.

The game world itself is amazing, and the game does a good job of forcing players back into the game world. But the game as a whole is so disjointed that it isn't compelling. Yes, the lack of real lore is a serious problem.

Anduin Wrynn is about as annoying as you'd expect. He kind of vaguely reminds me of the naive and prissy Ramza Beoulve as he appeared in Act I, minus the depth and development of character, and with Tirion's obnoxious manner of speaking and over-presentation of the trite. He is his father's son only in the sense that he is everything but. Let's put it this way: Anduin Wrynn votes straight Democrat.

It is extremely hard to get past the whole panda/china crap. More so than any game I've ever played, it's a ridiculous intrusion of reality, to always be comparing a completely fantastic game world against a real culture and place, with characters from a separate game world with no connection to that world or to the real world it's based on. You might as well have Aestu fighting alongside Mickey Mouse, and even that would be less obtrusive because Mickey Mouse isn't based on anything real (which is why Kingdom Hearts worked and Pandaland doesn't).

Overall, I would rate the expansion, from what I see, as 'half-baked'. It feels exactly like what it is which is a grossly watered-down experience consisting largely of kitsch designed by committee. As with GW2, there are flashes of brilliance here and there, but it lacks the genius that was Vanilla/TBC, something I attribute to the two games' common dev process.

My friend and I played PokeWoW all morning while the kids were at school. Haha. Not interested in the new content as much as I am in the collecting aspect.

As with GW2, I think that feminist influence is a major drag on both the concepts and content of MoP. This is most evident in the farming quests, where male characters are very obviously scripted by women (and say things that women like to believe but no man would think even for a moment) and the male sex drive is always evil.

As with GW2, there is the typically female imposition on the game that women do not understand and intensely fear competition and challenge (and this is why I have come to firmly believe women should be kept out of game design).
