Rogue

Preparation is now a baseline ability learned at level 68.
•Versatility has been removed.
•New Level-90 Talent: Marked for Death
•Marks a target and instantly generates 5 combo points. When that target dies, Marked for Death's cooldown is reset. This talent has a 1-minute cooldown.
•New Level-60 Talent: Cloak and Dagger
Ambush, Garrote, and Cheap Shot now have a 30-yard range, and will cause the Rogue to teleport behind the target.
Burst of Speed now costs 30 Energy (was 50 Energy), can be used in Stealth, and always grants increased movement speed in addition to breaking snare effects, but no longer breaks root effects.
•Shuriken Toss now causes the Rogue to throw shuriken instead of auto-attacking for 10 seconds after Shuriken Toss is used.
•Deadly Throw can now interrupt spellcasting when used at 3, 4, and 5 combo points, and upon interrupt prevents any spell in that school from being cast for 4, 5 and 6 seconds respectively (was 5 combo points and 6 seconds).
•Nerve Strike now reduces the effectiveness of healing provided by the target by 25%.
•Shadow Focus now reduces ability energy costs by 75% while stealthed (was 100%).

•PvP set bonuses have been changed:
•Vigor is now the 4-piece set bonus and increases maximum energy by 50 (was 10).
•Deadly Brew is now the 2-piece set bonus, and its effects remain unchanged.

•Combat
•Vitality now increases attack power by 30% (was 25%).
•Blade Flurry now deals 75% less damage.

•Subtlety
•Sanguinary Vein now increases the damage the target takes by 20% (was 16%).

What's going on with Shruiken Toss? Was it a "forced to autoattack for 10 seconds" before or something?

Also, I thought they were getting rid of autoattack in MoP?

Also, who still plays WoW? Torchlight 2 is where its at.

I actually found torchlight 2 rather dull.

Perhaps it was because I played the embermage?

Games these days seem to lack the ability to make casters interesting.

I really don't know. I haven't played a MoP yet. If it did force you to auto attack that is hahgay.

The buffs are crazy.

WoW is boring alone. Queue systems completely sucked the life out of that game.

Play an engineer and have a gaggle of goofybots running around you and your personal howitzer.

The concept of pets being cooldowns as opposed to passive entities has also really grown on me.

Retrogaming.

You're younger than most of us, aren't you? Why not try some games from the mid-90s?

I'll try to talk my roomate into playing torchlight 2 and give the engineer a try.

He is a fan of hardcore mode and dragged me into diablo 3 - I left a little note about my silly death in another thread -.-

As for retrogaming:

did you have anything specific in mind?

It's not a video game but
I've never played dungeons and dragons before and we're planning to do that when we return for the next semester. Could be entertaining.

Some of my friends played DnD in high school. I never got into it.

Hmm. Retro games.

Action
Super Mario All-Stars (SNES)
Zombies Ate My Neighbors (SNES)
Megaman X3/X4 (PSX)

RPG
Super Mario RPG (SNES)
Star Ocean 2 (PSX)
Star Control 2 (PC)
Final Fantasy IV, VI, Tactics (PSX)
Valkyrie Profile (PSX)
Persona 2: Eternal Punishment (PSX)
Tactics Ogre: Knight of Lodis (GBA)
Golden Sun (GBA)
Disgaea / Makai Kingdom (PS2)

Puzzle
Tetris Attack (SNES) [it's not really Tetris at all]

Strategy
Sim City 3000 (PC)
Alpha Centauri / Civilization III (PC)

If you haven't played Final Fantasy VII you probably should, just to know what it's all about. I recently replayed it, you know, for political and religious reasons. I still think Tactics and VI are better. (NERD FIGHT!!!)

Disgaea, Star Ocean 2 and Star Control 2 are probably the best picks of the RPGs.
And yes, you HAVE to play SMAC/Civ3. Playing them will *change* you. Trust me.

Incidentally, how many people have actually beat Knight of Lodis?

I never understood the ending where the protagonist pledges his loyalty to the Pope (who is unseen, hidden within his tented throne). Most Japanese video games and anime are fervently anti-Christian, for the reason that the Japanese have historically distrusted Christianity as a foreign influence with leanings contrary to their own culture. It doesn't really make sense from a Western standpoint either, since most English-speaking cultures also distrust the papacy. And it's at odds with most video game hero characters - I can't think of a single other RPG hero who finds his calling pledging his allegiance to a religious institution.

Disillusionment with secularism has led me to rediscover religion, and became interested in the ideas of Pope John Paul II, which led me into reading about Opus Dei. I wonder if the plot or ending to that game were influenced by that religious group.

Idk, ever since I beat that game about a decade ago I always thought that ending was just so weird.
