"Dad" is not an insult. To call him that sounds like joshing.
Regardless, Callysta's question is valid.

...and you're letting your low opinion of Usd cloud your judgment on the matter. Not all single mothers want to "find a man and shack up." The responsible ones generally don't. If Usd has maintained his intentions from the start, there's nothing wrong with being at different stages of relationship readiness. The woman on his Facebook is making a lot of assumptions on limited or no evidence. It's perfectly reasonable to say that's generally considered a bitchy thing to do.
I won't lie - I think it's a bit absurd that someone who preaches not to put one's dick in crazy seems to have such a penchant for doing so. Nonetheless, I am going off the facts of the conversation, nothing more.
I don't agree with your contention, in fact I think it is just the opposite. Kids need a father figure and if most men were not capable of filling that role, the human race would not have lasted as long as it has. Being a single mother is atrociously difficult and a major turn-off for most single men; beggars cannot be chosers and a woman looking to redeem her situation will recognize that.
Did Usd declare his intentions? As there is ambiguity in the relationship, I see reason to doubt that. Either way, I still think his reaction to what she said was uncalled for. Why not just ask her what she meant / explain the situation more?
