Buddy of mine just got a barn car from a guy up in massachusetts. 1965 fucking pristine shelby cobra. a few of us may or may not have a hit out on him.

if i had to pick my favorite, it'd probably be the 67 impala, because i love it and it's also the car on my favorite show. so it's like a win/win/lose. mostly because they're hard to find because of it :(

If I were going to do an older car and soup it up, I'd still have to get something with style.

I had one of these bad boys when I lived in FL:

Leather seats, A/C, cruise control...and I had it rolling over 120 at least once, which wasn't difficult with the 450 big block it had. I easily could have gone faster. When you were parked, you couldn't see all the way over the hood, but as soon as you hit 25-35, it leveled out and the front end dropped a bit so you could see over the hood to drive. The thing was freakin' sweet. I would have liked to have had a convertible version. The only problem with it was that there were four plastic "corners" on the body by the lights that went to shit and fell apart on almost every one I've ever seen.

I wonder what the model from the year I was born looks like. I think I may have another project to do after the bike.

Jubber

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Trabant

Quote:
The Trabant /trəˈbɑːnt/ is a car that was produced by former East German auto maker VEB Sachsenring Automobilwerke Zwickau in Zwickau, Sachsen. It was the most common vehicle in East Germany, and was also exported to countries both inside and outside the communist bloc...

...The particularly archaic look and unique two-stroke engine sound of the Trabant has made it a beloved model amongst the car tuning community in Central Europe. Many variations exist, although two major streams have been developed.

Some say that the perplexing effect caused by a postmodern Trabi that can overtake modern cars at 150 km/h (93 mph) is worth all the effort. Also common is the combination of a Trabant with a Japanese superbike engine, such as the engine of a Suzuki Hayabusa (a combination known as Trabusa). Some cars with supercharged powerplants have a rated power of over 150 hp (112 kW).

I want a 2013 Shelby GT500. That thing will run a 12 second quarter mile right out of the box, maybe even faster. Someone loan me 60 grand.

You're right. He's a fucker.

In other news, I looked at the bike and went ahead and purchased it. $700 and it really only needs minor work. Runs pretty good once it warms up. The guy had all kinds of extras for it, too, which he threw in because he was pretty awesome. I'll put up picks tomorrow some time.

What'd you get? I had a Vulcan for a few years, nothing big, just a learn to ride bike for getting about town and to work. Lots of fun!

What is it?

Also, did you buy it from a rub?

Can he give me tips on how to make it across the Atlantic on wheels?

(for the retarded: I am aware that inferior American cities frequently steal names of magnificent shining jewels in Europe. Or in the case of Odessa, magnificent hives of industrial disease)
