they said they're gonna open it up like the NES and SNES games, which is something they've went away from since 3D. everything in the past few games has been do this dungeon in order etc. i guess that's why people are comparing it to skyrim. hopefully it has actual decent gameplay unlike skyrim.

was a handheld one with one big dungeon you kept going back into over and over as you got more items and sand for an hourglass timer thingamabob

i suspect it was called phantom hourglass but i refuse to confirm this the easy way using the google machine
