I'm tired of mine. So very, very tired.

I'm used to the grind of every day at a job being the same stupid thing. I am quite accustomed to management making (or at least implementing) policies that even they have to admit are ridiculous at best or stupid and counterproductive at worst. I have no illusions that a disappointing chunk of my co-workers are going to be dumber than a bag of stones, and in many cases make me think Chrystal is a great luminary and future winner of awards for literature, at least by way of comparison.

I cannot, however, abide the insult of being told that someone who has absolutely none of my experience is "more qualified" to do something that I've been doing on-and-off for almost a decade. It is particularly galling when I have management experience they lack.

I have become very resentful, and things that I normally shrug off and just deal with have now become triggers for outbursts of rage. I left work Monday after just two hours because of the absolute retardation of those around me that I would normally just make me facepalm. In the course of two hours, I had the usual left-over "day shift didn't want to do this truck so they skipped ahead and did something different so now YOU have to do it" P.O.S. falling apart and badly loaded truck, some idiot walking into my forklift while it was moving (while I was honking the horn, no less), and the moron I was working with trying to tag and receive shit that was on my forks while I was moving it with a multi-ton forklift. Then one of the shabbily loaded pallets I was moving fell apart, and I raged.

I realized after picking up and slamming around the 75 lb. boxes that had fallen off the busted pallet that I was probably not in the appropriate frame of mind to be at work. This realization did not dawn on me until I realized I was scaring the piss out of my work partner.

So I left.

I went in yesterday, and my ops manager "wanted to talk." He was concerned that I had scared the living shit out the dumb bitch that wasn't afraid of getting plowed with a forklift while fucking with shit that was moving. Go figure.

We had a very long and unhealthy conversation, which I am fairly certain did not shape up in the manner he originally envisioned. During the course of this conversation, I raged again, and told him, among other things, that he needed to stop being the day shift guy's bitch, sprout a sack, and tell that fucker to get his shit together. This pretty well ended the conversation, as he told me that "we should try to talk about this again when you're not upset."

I do not dislike my ops manager. He is a good guy...actually too good, which why we have some of our problems. I've gone out and had a beer with him on more than a few occasions. I felt bad about saying some of the things I said to him later, but he honestly did need to hear it...all of it, and probably some more on top of that.

I think he realized that the conversation was turning on him when he told me that "if I couldn't deal with the situation here, I should look for another job." In other words, "stop being a pain in the ass or we'll fire you." When I told him I was already looking elsewhere, it was "we don't want you leave" all of a sudden. The show of weakness turned on my predatory instincts and I raged. You just can't hit someone with an implied threat and then back off of it like that.

I think being smarter than everyone I work for puts me at an enormous disadvantage.

Sorry to waste space here with such boring IRL trivialities, but I needed to vent somewhere, and I like you guys...and when I talked to my G/F, all her responses were pretty much "how is this going to impact me, especially if you lose your job?" If that is what I get during one of the very rare times I look to someone for sympathy and comfort, especially after almost ten year together, I think that may be a sign that it's time to trade her in for a newer model.

Your Pal,
Jubber

In my current condition...and maybe even if I worked out and got back into awesome condition...I think I may be too old for bears. Alligators, however, are probably doable, and since they are more exotic, likely to earn me more money and hot girls.

Ha Ha!!!

If anyone knows of any decent jobs in areas with an agreeable cost of living, link me some.

Now that I think about it, one of the big reasons I've spent ten years only fornicating with one woman is because I didn't want to set a shitty example for my son. I didn't, and kind of still don't, want him to see me with a different woman every few weeks. I didn't want to be the guy dating girls that were obviously too young for me. Now I wonder why I bothered doing things that are so contrary to my nature. What did it get me? If anything, I've given my son an unrealistic expectation of how I am and/or how things are supposed to be, and traded my lifestyle for..."how does this affect me?"

I took today off from work. I just can't get my brain to behave in an agreeable fashion.

Your Pal,
Jubber

Alligators may be more exotic and may net more money, but you would have competition there. Nobody wrestles bears, and therefore, you'll make good because of being the only one.

PS. Bears are the one animal that scares the shit out of me. Probably because they're the biggest baddest thing in this area. A pack a wolves are still a whole lot of animals smaller than I, a mother bear with cubs though... ooooooooh man.

I like how with all your bitching about everyone else in American having a sense of entitlement and delusions of grandeur and the expectation of everything handed to them in life and that's bringing the country down...

All that somehow vanishes when you prattle about your megalomania as the pro forklift operator and how you deserve reverence for driving a forklift around that can easily be operated by an illiterate Mexican peasant who will now be happy to have your job and won't complain a tenth as much.

And everyone knows, I can tell you this firsthand having on BOTH sides of the case (as everyone knows!): nothing gets you shit-canned as fast as being more trouble than you're worth.

Especially when you're doing something that takes real brains like driving a forklift. You're stuck doing that because you're so intelligent, right?

Seriously, in an economy like this, your boss sounds like Saint Peter in that he even gave you a chance with your ridiculous attitude. 99% of bosses in his place would have just chucked you to the curb and grabbed a hungrier guy to work for half your pay.

everyone has the right to bitch about people not doing the job they were hired for, or for making the jobs of others more difficult.

some fuckwit trying to climb on a forklift while it is in motion is more deserving of being shitcanned.

you sound feisty about this topic.

I'm feisty about it for the same reason I'm feisty about a lot of things, which is the gross hypocrisy of him complaining about entitlement then proclaiming it's because he's so intelligent that he has trouble holding onto a job as a forklift operator.

If the person is committing violations of safety, then just say that matter-of-factly to the people in charge and they'll be delighted to take care of it. You think they want to be targetted with a lawsuit when someone gets run over? If your immediate boss won't listen take it upstairs. The guy who will catch hell when the lawsuit hits the bottom line is damn sure to care.

I can empathize.

My immediate manager is the nicest asshole you'll ever meet. He's ex-Navy, 25 years, and while I have no problem whatsoever with those who served and serve our nation, I guess 25 years in a sub will do that to someone.

in b4 someone says 'he's probably mad cuz u sux at ur jorb lolol'

He makes work unpleasant, everything is personal. He is downright hostile and rude to everyone on our team. When I sliced my finger open and got 4 stitches and had to leave work early to go to the hospital, he insisted I take the remainder of the night off though I offered to come back after.

The next night I worked, I got to the back of the receiving area after he paged the crew back, and when I get back he said something to the effect of 'I'm sorry, I don't have work for handicapped people, please sir, back to the floor.'

I was pissed as fuck. I said something to the administrative manager who called the Ops manager and discussed it with him.

Next thing he does after they leave was essentially approach me and say 'Awww, it seems I hurt your feelings.'

Yeah, he's a fuckwit and I would love nothing more than to have 5 minutes alone with him (and no, not that kind of alone time).

I'd set his ancient fucktarded ass straight real quick.

Well, actually driving the forklift is the least of the things that I do. I guess what makes me feel "entitled" is that a few months ago, we were a supervisor short. Guess who filled in the position while they were out? Yeah, it was me.
Who always gets the "hey we can't do x, y, or z, do you think you can...?" Yeah, me.
Maybe I feel "entitled" because the person they gave the job to doesn't have somewhere between five and ten years of experience at a management level. Who applied that did? Yeah, that was me, too.
Maybe I feel "entitled" because the person they gave the job to doesn't have five to ten years experience in logistics and warehousing. Who did? That was me, too.

But you know what really makes me feel "entitled" and set off the huge train of rage? The bitch getting what damn well should have been my job coming over to my department and asking me to hold her fucking hand and walk her through something that any of those cruddy "Mexican Forklift Drivers" would have been able to do after a week on the job.

Maybe I just feel "entitled" because I was actually the better candidate, but I didn't get the job because the whore they gave it to is either someone's buddy, sucking someone's cock, or they needed to give the job to someone with tits for "diversity."

If you want to see that as "hypocrisy," it's not like it matters since your IRL experience amounts to not having friends while planning a way to stay in school for the rest of your life.

T&A? Friends? The Vast Left Wing Conspiracy? Maybe.

Or maybe it's because you're an insufferable megalomaniac who signs his post, rages about dumb shit to his boss, and thinks he's the only one who can do a job that's going to get done anyway without you.

I could make a post about my work and it would probably be three times as long.

In succinct terms; that kinda shit happens everywhere.

Getting fired for being an R-tard will not look good on a resume.

Finding a new job will not be easy. You need to have some sort of uniqueness (skills, ect) to differentiate yourself from the horde.
