So, you choose a spec now?

I assume this is changeable?

Hmm, if what Aqlo says is true, I think I'm going to be dropping dispersion. In a raid setting, I only use it as a mana battery on trash pulls and nothing else. If my damage output would be significantly increased without it, then eff it.

I do like this 31 point talent tree thing though, because they are removing many of the "filler" talents that are simply stupid.

If I understand it right, you can't put points into another tree until like level 60 or something.

at level 10 you choose a spec (they give you a short description of each at a trainer, ie - the swashbuckler thing). when you do, you get those abilities i listed. you can't spend points in any other tree until you spend 31 points in the spec you choose (this is a tradeoff, since they gave you the 31/41/51 point talent from the tree at level 10, they are locking you into that tree just the same as you would have to be to get that ability as a talent at level 40 or 50 or 60). after this point, you have 10 points to spend how you wish.

edit: oh and you get a talent point every 2 levels, and new spells at alternating levels. at some point it goes back to 1 point per level.

If anyone is interested, there is a breakdown of the warrior 31 point tree from myself as well as a rogue look from Scoregasms and bones on the HS forums. If anyone is looking for a class specific breakdown. I am sure the rest of them are coming

Here's what I was looking at..

http://www.wowtal.com/#k=a5b8W2mk.9mn.priest
This is the spec without Dispersion that picks up Shadow Orbs, and the Apparitions, as well as going 8 in Disc.

Here's what people are saying on shadowpriest.com...
http://www.wowtal.com/#k=a5b8W2nB.9mn.priest

This spec has a filler point to max either the orbs or the apparitions, with it being either 2app/2orb or 3app/1orb depending on the movement for the fight.

I think they should nuke a point from imp DP, make it 7/15% and 15/30% instant damage. That way you can pick up both, and dispersion, as well as going 8 into Disc.

The thing with Dispersion is, it's incredibly useful at letting you skip out on raid mechanics. Depending on how the fights are in Cataclysm, that might be a higher dps gain than 2% chance on Shadow Word Pain tick to do 15% of mind blast damage. On the other hand, with Shadow Word: Pain being affected by haste, moving for the raid mechanics might be better than dispersing them.

i'm just gonna say:

What the fuck blizzard....what have you done with Unholy....WHAT HAVE YOU DONE...

browsing over frost spec things going "Yes, this is cool and interesting" and then getting to unholy and seeing that i have to spec into 5-8 PvP talents just to get to the bottom of the tree versus speccing into 0 talents in frost.

So yeah, my summary of Cata: Blood for Tanking, Frost for DPS, Unholy for DERP

fucking blizzard ruining unholy >.>

looking at the paladin protection, all i can say is i have NO IDEA what is going on with paladins. i feel like i don't even have a frame of reference for those talents.

for example, 30 second duration increase on consecrate. oh, ok, so it's nothing like now.

obviously the 969 rotation isn't even going to be remotely alive anymore.

I love the 31-point tree's so much better.
I always felt stupid I had to always force talent points into DW as Enhance to make myself viable since it's mandatory anyway.

Ancestral swiftness is awesome and now that ghost wolf is also useable indoors now.

Can't wait to see what they change/add/modify before release.

Losing Elemental Fury though as Enhance makes me wonder if they are gonna remove Windfury cooldown now to make up the dmg loss especially if they are making weapon enchants one per weapon.

yeah they are removing the internal CD for windfury. apparently in the beta, windfury procs are proccing windfury procs. hope they don't fix it.

Verily, I have often laughed at weaklings who thought themselves proud because they had no claws.
