The only movies I care enough about to prefer in their original language (aside from French flicks since I speak that) are the Seventh Seal and Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon.

I had a 2009 New Zealand Pinot Noir that was one of the better wines I've had today.

anime in original language w/subs > dubbed anime.

Generally speaking you lose out on tons of puns, jokes, and just general character development if you watch it dubbed.

I'm about 50/50 on movies though and just take it on a case by case basis.

I'm not trying to start anything but I've heard it was a racist war type of movie so I haven't see it yet.

Er, how does going from reading to listening change that, again? Sure, the translation isn't as direct, but it's mostly just a timing thing.

Dubs are superior, because if I wanted to read, I would have picked up a book.

You can't focus on much else other than the words at the bottom.

Unless you read way to fast and then it's like you're reading spoilers =/

On a side note, if you watch Kung Foo Hustle, the English Dub is a completely different movie from the English Subtitles, not sure if intended.

If you read a lot of books you probably don't mind and can read it fast enough to still watch the movie.

I really don't want to play Old Spice with words on a screen.

Look at your movie, now at me, now at your movie, now back at me, now at your movie, and then back to me. Your movie is not me and could never be like me but it could smell like me.

Although subtitles are vastly superior to poor dubs. And if it's not an anime or cartoon, they're probably poor dubs.

Why watch the movie if you can read the book?

Don't watch the Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, go buy the paperback (This has nothing to do with the fact that my company prints the books, I printed the last run, and I want work).

If foreign movies weren't so ridiculously much better than their American counterparts this wouldn't be a problem.
