Claiming that one side of the aisle in washington is full of poo flinging monkey fucking idiots is completely valid, professional and infallible logic.

Oh wait.

Right you are, I got caught up in presidents in my lifetime (was born in 86 ;) )

Our country is split pretty evenly between Republicans and Democrats, so it is no surprise that political office would flip flop between the two. Comparing presidential power with congressional and judicial power is more telling of the political climate.

This is also true. I think, however, that the two-party system we have in this country is inherently flawed. The amount of bills that don't get passed because of simple partisan posturing and political games makes me sick.

Add to that candidates who are up for re-election, who then worry about bad PR, so they don't vote for things and basically sit on their asses...

Add that to lobbyists, campaign contributions, and everything else....

I'm so sour on the politics in this country. Nothing I do can change it, this is fact. Will my vote count? Sure. It will be counted. But will me voting for the lesser of two evils in every election (which is what it always comes down to) do anything to change the partisan/media-driven shit-hole of a political system we have in this country? Nope.

Reagan won his second election by 49 states, and lost the opponents home state by 3800 votes.

That's an impressive rock.

I actually don't like the fact that kids can stay on their parents insurance until 26. by 26, "kids" should have a good enough job to pay for their own insurance, or have it from their college tuition(for which you can get grants)

What if they don't, especially in times like these where people are hard-pressed to find jobs? I don't see how this affects anyone since the parents still pick up the bill. If anything, this helps reduce healthcare costs since people in that age bracket won't be going for uninsured emergency room visits.

EDIT:
Quote:
We aren't as stupid as your teachers tell you we are

They don't. I haven't heard Democrats try to rebuke the fact that they said they dabbled in witchcraft, nor have I seen Democrats demonize higher education, brown people, or the poor so fervently as Republicans. Sure, we have our bad apples (ex. the WV senator that's fixing to win who shot the Cap & Trade bill in an ad), but it really takes a special breed of stupid to get such blantant hypocrites like Palin (against pork but supported the "Bridge to Nowhere") and that guy from new york (he said that gays shouldn't be allowed in schools and that our kids should be taught that homosexuality is wrong but it turned out he owned 2 or 3 gay night clubs) all under one party banner.

I was watching the election coverage with my roommate who went on this whole point that Obama hasn't done shit and he's spending all of our money and then I told him that Obama keeps on getting filibustered and the shit that actually gets passed takes time. I had to explain to the kid what a fucking filibuster was since he had no idea what it was. After I did, he just grumbled and left.

There might be a few of you smart moderate conservatives out there, but you're being rapidly replaced by these tea party shitfucks, who are literally scaring the shit out of me.

Never said it wasn't an impressive rock. It was still a rock.

Sorry, Reagan was incomprehensibly stupid and by the end of his second term his brain was all white sauce on top of it all.

Considering how much the president has in the way of advisors and other people he has to go through to get shit done(ie congress), i prefer to blame Washington as a whole, not just presidents.

That's a fair thing to do. Reagan was 100% advisors anyway, since he was just an idiotic smiling face with no brain behind it that people thought was approachable and voted for in droves.

Pink Floyd's "The Wall" is on Fuse TV right now. I'm watching that instead of election coverage. Especially after I saw CBS declare Blumenthal the winner of the CT Senate seat after only 6% of precincts reported. Not that I'm complaining about the projection, I voted for Blumenthal. But the other story here in CT is some moron made the mistake of ordering only 21,000 ballots for 69,000 people in Bridgeport. Both parties with the Secretary of the State petitioned a Judge to allow the printing of additional ballots, and the polling hours there have been extended to 10:00pm. If I were voting in Bridgeport I'd feel good knowing my vote counts for shit.

You'd rather the government not do anything? I mean, with Republicans making it so you need 60 votes to pass anything via the filibuster, you're getting that already.

The republicans didn't have the votes to filibuster jack shit. You can blame moderate/semi-conservative democrats for not pushing their luck any further after the backlash over stimulus and healthcare "reform" started.

Mns wrote:
IIRC most of "Obamacare" doesn't even go into full swing until something like 2014. So far, the only things that have really gone into effect is that you can stay on your parent's health insurance until you're 26 and kids can't get dropped from healthcare (OH GOD WHAT SOCIALISTS). How has it already failed?

And because of that and the "pre-existing condition" clause, insurance companies have already started cutting back on coverage and raising prices. It's funny how all these provision that kick in over the next four years until it's all in place all take place after elections. You know that if you have a health savings account, you're going to have to get a fucking prescription for goddamn tylenol before you can use your health savings account to buy it?
If the "reform" is a success, and not a failure, why are the vast majority of Americans not happy with it, and why does the president have to keep trying to sell something that has already passed?

The only thing these assclowns need to "get done" is cutting the fucking budget,

Which Republicans won't do. From being alive under Bush for 8 years, its been beyond obvious that the only things that get cut are what the Republicans don't like (read: social programs are cut in favor of military contracts)
Quote:
which is most cases isn't much more than necessary regulation

I really liked how you said this. What in your obviously Conservi-Blinder mind are "necessary regulations"?

I don't know what makes you think republicans will cut social programs when they do shit like add a prescription drug benefit to medicare, effectively adding more to that budget. You're right that they can't be counted on to cut the budget.
Necessary regulations are the basics: Fraud is bad, mkay? You don't say that your toothpaste cures cancer when it doesn't even get your teeth clean. You cut out the bullshit loopholes politicians pop in to cover yourself and your cronies; all the rules apply to everyone equally. There are a lot of things the federal government does that it's supposed to do: defense, diplomacy, roads, and mail. There are a lot of things the federal government needs to turn back over to the states, like education. Some things that the federal government doesn't have a Constitutional mandate to do are best handled at the federal level, like the FDA, FCC, and FAA, but we should amend the Constitution to give the federal government those powers.
Unnecessary regulations are ethanol mandates, ethanol, farm, and any other subsidies, the crony capitalism of the stimulus, and "defense of marriage" bullshit (not that it has passed...yet).

If you're 26, and you're a "kid," you need to grow the fuck up. In fact, if you're 26 and/or under, and you think you're a "kid," or you think it's just fine that you're still sucking mommy's tit at that point in your life, why don't you not vote, because you're a fuck-off and you're bringing the rest of us down.

I lol'ed. Jubber, you are SUCH an idiot that I want to skin you alive, but at least you're smart enough not to bother voting when you know you're an idiot. Lord knows we don't need any more idiot's making decisions in this country.

I voted today. You're welcome for the incoming "fuck Obama" tidal wave I decided to be a droplet in today.

I'd be insulted, but since you're a "kid" your opinion carries all the weight and stank of a popcorn fart.
