I majored in History. I took well over a dozen history courses over too many years. Only two of them approached the Holocaust in any detail, and one of them was specifically "History of the Holocaust." I think you're exaggerating, or you're being stupid and intentionally scheduling classes that repeat themselves.

In high school, we only covered it briefly in 9th grade and then in more detail in 12th. 10th and 11th were purely American history, so while we got to deal with the internment camps, the Holocaust was a footnote.

If you're super interested in European history of the 30s and 40s, don't be surprised when you keep hearing about the same sets of events. Durrrr.

it's not so much the fact that it constant pops up that i find annoying, i just find it annoying that....i dunno such a mass genocide is ritualized by the mass public as some sort of horrendous tragedy and it attempts to overshadow all other genocides that have occured.

From the Genocides of the 1840-90's in Africa during the period of Imperialism to the Native American's to the USSR's genocide of the Ukranian's and the Chinese's Genocide. It's not the biggest genocide that had ever occured, it's not the most horrendous, then why in the hell is it regarded as such a giant fucking thing?

You love ww2 history and then complain when your WW2 classes talk about the holocaust?

No in the grand scheme of things its not the biggest genocide to ever happen. However, in WW2, it is. Good luck finding a WW2 class that doesn't cover the holocaust.

And how many of them died in the Holocaust? Like 15? Let's be clear: everyone thinks of white people when they think of Jews, just the way everyone thinks of brown people when they think of Muslims even though Indonesians are asian.
