I enjoyed a lot of these... I might have to find a spot for Road Warrior in there somewhere. I also liked Avatar, but more for the effects than the Pocahontas story rip-off, so... nah... it can't knock off most of these others.

nostalgia urge...rising. I have a feeling I'll probably re-watch pretty much all of these throughout the week.

Threads like this remind me how weak a nerd i am. I've seen 5 (maybe 7, not sure if i've actually seen any of the original Star Wars) films named in this thread

Pretty sure The Matrix is the only Sci-Fi film I remember in detail enough to say it was good.

But I'm also pretty sure I don't see a lot of Sci-Fi.

Is this really all the action a Sci-Fi thread can generate? You nerds are failing at nerd. Have any of you ever seen From Beyond?

p.s. Tuhl, Aliens can not be knocked out of any Sci-Fi top 10. Sorry. You'll have to choose something else to remove.

p.s.s. Starship Troopers was a pretty fun one. Although admittedly not top 10, it scores bonus points for sci-fi future nakedness.

That's mostly true. It's just hard to reorganize, and my top 4 are definitely locked, with 5 probably being Fifth Element after I remembered it existed.

Starship Troopers is awesome if A) you don't mind that it's only got the name and the existence of the mobile infantry in common with the book (well, and the totalitarian military regime) and B) you recognize it's 100% satirical.

I like Brazil, but definitely not enough to make the list. It's also really fucked up, but then again so are all Terry Gilliam films.
