No, you're the asshole that posted "jokes" in response to other people's posts when you were trying to have a discussion about it beforehand.

So I'm supposed to feel bad because we're (allegedly) mistreating and taking advantage of people but if I leave because I'm not treated properly I'm "incapable of working well with others?" Go fuck yourself, dude. That's such a stretch for a cheap shot that I wouldn't be surprised if you pulled a muscle. Apparently "fed up" is completely justifiable for you, but not good enough for the rest of us.

It appears blizzard isn't the only one to retcon.

you're really not holding water here tehra. you talking about leaving your job because you don't agree with a big issue that your job was on the wrong side of is fine.

jubber leaving his job because he doesn't like the job/people he works with/etc i also fine.

You were going for a cheap shot that had nothing to do with the issue at hand and you know it.

No, I was pointing out that things that make him bitch about his work are commonplace overseas and the irony thereof is laughable. Part of the thread I linked, and was pointing out, involves his concern for safety and improper working conditions for himself, and the "rage" resulting from it.

Jubbergun wrote:
If those people thought they were being mistreated, they could do exactly what I'm obviously such an anti-social bastard for doing and say, "no thanks, I'm done here." They don't, though, do they? Why is that? Because we're forcing the barrel of a gun down their throat? No, because it's a damn sight better than what they had before and they welcome the opportunity.

Here, I'll cite a conversation that occurred before you even posted that.

Quote:
mazel (8:50:17 PM): a worker strike in a factory in china
mazel (8:50:20 PM): can easily spell
mazel (8:50:25 PM): much more expensive
mazel (8:50:30 PM): basically anything
OmniaSuntLumina (8:50:54 PM): yep, until the corporations find other workers who will be "willing" to work for something, as usd mentioned
OmniaSuntLumina (8:51:08 PM): then you leave the country you were using in an economic quagmire
mazel (8:51:09 PM): yeh
OmniaSuntLumina (8:51:21 PM): and the new one gives you new lower prices, but you're still going to charge more than you did before
OmniaSuntLumina (8:51:26 PM): because you have to recoup moving costs
OmniaSuntLumina (8:51:49 PM): and people will be convinced $5 might be more than $4.50, but it's less than $7, so they're ok
OmniaSuntLumina (8:52:25 PM): this is all because corporations need to sell their product, get the best margin, and will look to cut costs where they can.
mazel (8:52:30 PM): mhmm
OmniaSuntLumina (8:53:14 PM): and people forget that we push jobs elsewhere because people demand more compensation for work here
OmniaSuntLumina (8:53:34 PM): but the real reason people want more compensation is because they're in a consumer competition with each other
OmniaSuntLumina (8:53:54 PM): one giant clockwork machine spinning faster and faster until burnout.
mazel (8:53:56 PM): everything and everyone is connected
OmniaSuntLumina (8:55:11 PM): and until people understand that singular action can create an avalanche of change, people will continue to be selfish.

Yes, you clearly have a choice over in China, where the factory workers are essentially college aged kids who live in dorms across the way from the factory building and live in terrible conditions, fornicate and abuse drugs and alcohol as a means of escape while they send back any money they can make to family who are barely surviving on a farm, all because if they didn't, they'd fall to the wayside. Could they leave that job and work elsewhere? Sure, and do the same thing. Did everyone forget the riots that were occurring there when they were moving jobs out of the south?

God fucking bless America.

You're forgetting that it used to be like that in America.

We got out of it, I'm not going to feel bad for that.

And yes i realize its horrible the way they're treated etc etc. I realize we are part of the problem. But I also realize its not hopeless for them and I realize that we shouldn't sit around beating ourselves up over our success.

It wasn't forgotten. Hopefully other countries also do the same, but the key thing is there are those who want to hold onto that control and won't relinquish it. That goes for either side. At least here you'll find people concerned and demanding accountability, but until these issues are brought up, corporations are happy to ignore until there's enough backlash or as long as the money's flowing.

People are more inclined to let it slide because it isn't happening here where they can see it, or better yet, smell it.

Ha

Ha Ha

Hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaaa...

Really? That is the best you've got? From that you derive that "I am incapable of working well with others?" People like that don't leave when they realize they're not in a proper frame of mind to be in a professional (and more importantly industrial) environment. Those people stay and attempt to make everyone else as miserable as they are.

I work so poorly with others that my ops manager, after I gave him hell for his spineless management style, wrote me a very nice letter of recommendation before he left to take a better position somewhere near Boston. I also somehow managed to stay at that job for another three months or so with no problems until I learned exactly how shafted I had been on the promotion I should have received and various other issues inside the plant.

I guess you can at least still say I'm an ignorant/ugly American who's never gone anywhere and therefore has a completely unrealistic world-view and makes baseless assumptions about people over the internet I've never met...so apparently I'm in pretty good company.

I don't give a fuck what we're buying from China. The majority of their problems are from 60+ years of communism and their dictatorial government, and those are not the fault of anyone in this country.

Your Pal,
Jubber

Thanks to Chinamen I buy cheap goods.

Do I really care about their living conditions over there? Not at all. If they don't like it tell them to hop a ride on Godzirras back and come to the US like the rest of 'em.

Talking about WikiLeaks founder being arrested digresses into talking about working conditions in China and people assuming too much while not taking jokes or masking jokes to cover up their incorrectness. GG

P.S. Tehra and Jubber should hug.

You know, I have no idea what I am.

I've seen things say Nov. 22nd is Saggy and ones that say it's Scorpio.

I'd look further, but that requires care.

11/22 is sag. I could flick an Aries in the head and drop them. It'd be difficult to have that beer with Jubber if he was an Aries.

Sags would be thighs for sensitivity. I prefer not to sleep with scorpios, their key point is well, yeah, and they tend to start channeling the dead.

Yes, I have a list.

edit: and Dooj, your granddaughter was born under scorpio, iirc. That's why you had that dream years ago. It coincided with my less than pleasant experience with a scorpio at that time. I've since repaired that portion of the grid.
