No one's saying they can't serve, there's gays all over the military. It's just that no one wants people to go prancing around the barracks talking about how gay they are.

If they start prancing around in the barracks, that isn't going to make them more acceptable to people who have no real reason to hate them in the first place. It's just more bullshit distracting people away from issues that actually matter.
I think a large number of people have missed/overlooked previous posts, and are letting biases cloud their judgement.
Not all gay people act like every day is a freaking pride parade. Not all gay people are huge queens who talk with outrageous lisps and shout how gay they are from rooftops.
In fact, if DADT were repealed, I can almost guarantee gay people in the military wouldn't start prancing around going "heeeyyyyy boyyysss, guesss who looovesss cock!!!!"
The type of big gay queens you are describing (
the gay stereotype) and applying to all gay people would most likely never even join the military. You think gay people who are that effeminate and "loud" would even be able to survive boot camp?? lol. Just imagine a queer like Perez Hilton trying to do PT...it's laughable.
No what we are talking about is simple stuff like saying "Oh me and my boyfriend are going here for the holidays." You know, normal stuff that people talk about in conversation...that a gay person serving in the military simply can't say.
Repealing DADT would not magically turn every barracks in the country into Boy's Town or a gay club on South Beach.
These random prejudices, stereotypes, and
BASELESS FEARS are the exact reason that DADT still exists. It's ignorant morons who, while not homophobic, think that all gay people just want to tell everyone how gay they are, that are keeping this retarded policy in place.
