So I sorta kinda don't feel like renewing my subscription. I've got too much good shit going on right now IRL to spend time on WoW, and why spend money on something I have no interest in?

Anyway, my guild is raiding tonight and tomorrow. Can you send an ingame mail to Falaram for me to tell him I'm taking a little break due to burnout? tyty

xoxo

You couldn't have e-mailed him yourself before your sub ran out?

;p

It ran out at like 4 AM today and I decided to cancel at midnight last night. I was contemplating resubbing, but I'll wait it out. I was enjoying myself when not playing last year.

Yeah, when I stop playing I find I enjoy myself.

For me though, I'm now just entirely casual.

The 15 bucks a month is really a drop in a hat for me - since WoW is one of the few games I do play. I don't have to go out and spend $50 bucks getting a new game all the time. Also, it's cheaper than going to the movies.

I log on because a few of my IRL friends still play, and I have some internet friends I like to larp with too.

But yeah, you gotta do whatever you feel is right. I think we all have vices, and yes, WoW, and most video games, are vices. If you take them in moderation though, and still do your other shit, then it's not a big deal. I used to think quitting WoW would solve all my problems....then I realized my problems ran deeper than an addictive video game.

Yeah, that's true, but it's really just a time consumer that I don't need. I don't really blow a whole lot on other games regardless of whether or not I'm playing WoW, anyway. I'm in the process of reforming a band I was in last summer and that's what most of my money will go towards for the next few months.

I seem to be unable to play for more than four months without an acute burnout. I mean, I could play casually, but I never really found much fun in that. Considering that I've still got FUBU/AIM to keep me connected to my WoW broskis/broskettes, it's really not that big of a deal anyway. The RL friends I know who do play WoW are people I see virtually every day face to face, so there's nothing lost there.

Still, it's kind of disappointing that I wasted my "interested" phase on the stagnant months of Wrath rather than use it for Cataclysm raiding. But it's not like I should care either way.

You've been in Max's vent enough times to not enjoy my presence, though. So it balances out.
