There is almost always some kind of indicator. You don't know the situation, you don't know what happened, you don't know this kid's past, you don't know his personality. The report only gives the side of his mother, it may be unlikely but this kid
could be seriously disturbed. Given the nature of today's media it wouldn't surprise me if this kid was just reenacting something he saw and thought nothing of it. Either way, someone had to look into it.

He was drawing a picture, he wasn't throwing a tantrum. A picture of him shooting his classmates. That requires some sort of intervention.
