Historically speaking, there's more of a chance Miley Cyrus will win a Grammy than Obama will win the Presidency again if the unemployment rate stays where it is, and with that in mind, his supporters in the media would rather focus on "LOLURDUMB" than serious scrutiny of his potential replacements.

First off - I was not commenting on her Republican-ness, and definitely didn't want to start a political flamewar, hence why I put this in the shitfest. Usdk was much closer to the type of thread responses I was looking for. If she had been a democratic candidate I would have laughed at her just the same.

Couple things. You say the media was unfair to her....I dunno, I think a lot of the questions she was given were very fair...like "name a newspaper you read" or "what foreign policy experience do you have" or "how do you feel about george bush's policies" (IE "The Bush Doctrine").

These are not particularly hard hitting or unfair questions...and they are questions i'd expect the vice president of the united states to have ready answers to....not a bunch of jumbled talking points.

Sure she''s had some slip of the tongues since which the media will always run with...but her utter idiocy is not the result of the media taking things she says out of context.

The only business experience, prior to elected office, that Obama had was "community organizing." Aside from a brief stint at a law firm (which he referred to in one of his books as "working for the enemy"), and his time in the Illinois legislature, he had done nothing aside from giving a speech before he was elected to the Senate. His voting record is a series of safe "no one will object to this" votes and "present." Neither Palin nor Obama were what anyone should have referred to as experienced candidates, but of the two, at least Palin had executive experience.

Let's deny The Chosen One his teleprompter, and see how much dumbassery he can pull out of his pie-hole. Palin and Obama are two sides of the same coin, and the coin is one of those gum-covered Canadian deals you find in pocket that is at least mildly disappointing when you realize what it is.

My opinions are "shitfest material," but the sort of policies the "enlightened" among you prefer haven't done anything but dig the country deeper a ditch. If anything, you should be praying for Sarah Palin. It's the only way you guys will be able to ensure four more years of Jimmy Carter Jr.

that's actually a solid point. instead of attacking people who actually stand a chance at getting the republican nod(and this isn't against the board, but the media in general) the left are attacking sarah palin, who is unelectable in the extreme and has already been soundly beaten in one campaign when she was only running for VP, which no one cares about anyway.

I've come to the conclusion today that we're going down the crapper due to larger societal ills, but only because I stumbled upon a group of people who have somehow managed to articulate some things that have been lingering at the edge of my thinking for some time now. Doesn't matter who we elect. Carry on.
