This has been going on since...as long as there has been government.

A politician MEETING WITH LOBBYISTS is as inane as it gets. This is a case of the media making something out of absolutely nothing through presentation.

Unless there's allegations of bribery or foul play...there is absolutely nothing here but government working exactly as intended.
And it's also a case of the media working as intended...which is using presentation to brainwash the weak-minded when the facts are wanting by appealing to fear and not reason.

No one is saying meeting with lobbyists is a bad or unethical thing... except for the President himself. The President was critical of lobbyists and he ran anti-lobbyists attack ads against the Republican party, tying them to different lobbyists and, during the race, saying McCain would be more of the same politics because of his ties to lobbyists. During the debates and during interviews, Obama would try to distance himself from the lobbyists by preaching for ethics and campaign contribution reform. The issue is Obama is trying to be deceitful by meeting with the lobbyists off-site so he can't be tied to that which he railed against. He's saying one thing to garner support but doing the opposite. Jubber's comment on transparency is another poke at Obama since he ran on a transparent government. Again, if this report is right, then he's not being transparent by hiding his back-door dealings.

Politics as usual - sure... but he shouldn't be given a pass when he wants everyone to believe he's above it.

When the Wisconsin Gov. tried to pull this shit (the tactic of planting the left used in the last couple years) many on the right called him out on it.

When the Democrats/Liberals planted people in the Tea Party rallies, people like yourself used the opportunity to call everyone racists, bigots, etc.

"Thinking about" doing something is a far cry from doing it, especially when you're telling someone on the phone that you thought about it and didn't, with the implication being that you don't want them to do it, either. That's not even referring back to my earlier comments this week about that sort of shady behavior and how unacceptable it is, but I am going to remind you that they got the idea from liberal activists and websites engaging in or "thinking about" engaging in exactly that behavior.

The President can have Andy Stern and Richard Trumka over for talks three times or more a week and/or be on the phone with them every day, and that's OK, but somehow when Governor Walker talks to (or thinks he's talking to) a lobbyist/donor you think that's a "gotcha" moment...because he was discouraging someone from doing something wrong. Brilliant, your logic is, as ever, abso-fucking-lutely flawless and free of any taint of hypocrisy.

To answer the question, Google about an individual named Jason Levin and "Crash the Tea Party." Crashtheteaparty.org was taken down shortly after it was launched (the site remains empty).


It was a pretty big deal when it was going on, but most of the sites that still have any information up or photos available are conservative bloggers/pundits.

But let's go a step further, and remember the media's outrage about people Godwinning their protests with Hitler signs during Tea Party events...I guess those days of outrage are behind us?

Have you seen anything similar to that done about the MN protests? I haven't, yet...
