Just curious of anything interesting that any of you might be working on. (anything is interesting, well almost?)

Me, I'm re-writing all of my notes which include old and new course & lecture notes, theories, problems, calculations, papers and any relevant or interesting stuff (also updated & calculated with latest data), organizing them to make it easy to replace anything that changes or to add anything new at its appropriate place (and, of course, to make it easier to look up anything). Gonna take a while but it'll be convenient, plus as a bonus, when I'm done I can slam a huge pile on your desk and shout "there, the universe, biatch!**

**In theory.

Here's the size at ~10% done (if even):

(Yeah, it has a cover page) (Edit: Maybe one day it'll all fit in an equation that fits on your thumb. 'till then, it's a one foot pile)

WoW: Leveling secondary professions...disregarding females, acquiring virtual currency...pvp set...100k honorable kills.

IRL: Raising twin boys to be responsible and upstanding members of society. It's not easy, and I'm far from perfect but the results so far have amazed me.

If it's true that our species is alone in the universe, then I'd have to say the universe aimed rather low and settled for very little.

I'm writing a lab report due in 3 hours on Hess's Law (oh so unexciting)

This is what I get for leaving things with a week to be done for so long.

A week is a long time, 3 hours is a long time too, kinda!

No worries! The Feynman algorithm is here to help you:

1) Write down problem
2) Think real hard
3) Write down answer

But seriously, I have a trick that helps a metric shit-ton (not sure if it applies to chem):

-Take a law, theory, or whatever
-Build it from the ground up, in other words, make it from the most basic components, up to the conclusion/postulates/equation(s)/whatever
-If you make it, you'll understand it.

Work: I've been pulled from my programming job to work as a configuration manager for a document that is currently being written for The National Geospatial Intelligence Agency to get approval and signature from the Office of the Secretary of Defense for public release on emerging standards within the GEOINT Community in terms of sensor technology.

Home: Raising one baby (fuck twins bro... dunno how you manage), working on replacing the siding, windows and building a porch, studying for my Sec+ and working on a website that's going to make me richer than hell.

At this exact moment I am about to roll out on a trouble call for a fiber optic switch that got hit by lightning yesterday. Customer called in the problem yesterday, we rolled on site right when the called, they were closed. Needless to say we were slightly pissed.

I'm not sure if I could make Hess's Law any simpler.

It's just that the enthalpy of a net reaction (in 1 step) is the same as the sum of the multiple steps to reach that net reaction.

summary of physchem: there's ΔH's everywhere

edit: I just have my least favourite part of a lab report left DISCUSSION.

:( :(

Right now?

I'm drinking my coffee and going through my morning emails while trying to ignore the guy who shouts when he talks who is having a conversation across the room. Fucker sounds like he's standing right behind me. I wish he would shut up.

Shortly I will be working on a consolidated output from two completely different AR systems. Hooray.

I took a quick look, and it looks boring. But looks like that's the kind of thing you'll be able to calculate or at least estimate in your head eventually.

I find deltas satisfying to write.
