Every game that is called a "WoW killer" has to make it past the six month mark. Rift could put a dent, or it could fail just like all of the others. Don't get me wrong, Activision needs to get a big scare to actually put some thought into game developement other than how they can make an old instance look fun. The troll dungeons are probably the only thing that could have been redone without pissing off more people than they did. Just imagine if they redid something stupid like Sethekk Halls or Ulduman. These instances are really place holders and a way for bads to claim they are good by having nearly an entire set of purples. Will I run the newish instances, yes, because they were some of my favorites? Will I keep playing if all they do is remake old shit, probably not. I will join up with all of the other jedi want a be nerds when Bioware gets their thumbs out of their asses.

Although I will say to those bitching about redoing old stuff...

You need to realize that's just them putting out filler content between real content patches. In Vanilla they didn't do that, and we had the same 5man instances the entire time. It was months and months between any new content at all.

Yeah, they reused a few things, but the alternative probably was not something new, it was nothing at all. They created a whole list of new 5man dungeons for the expansion, they could just leave it at that and focus entirely on raids from here forward if they wanted. They're throwing a bone to the players to give you something moderately interesting to do until the next big raid comes out.

Sometimes Blizzard really is in a damned if they do damned if they don't conundrum. The players are never happy.

There's this trick I do that I'm sure would make her scream about LIGHTNING FINGERS, but it would be totally inappropriate to bring it up.

its worth trying eternal. its a little slower paced compared to wow's streamlined (read: stupid easy) leveling system, but its steady and very doable.
