Canceled! Yay!

I won't be so silly as to say I will never come back...but yeah, I just have no interest in the game anymore. I don't raid, nor do I have any desire to raid. I don't PvP, nor do I have any desire to PvP. I don't really like leveling.

Just seems like this game is just too old for me now. Guess I out grew it?

IDK, I wish I had the passion of Aestu or something...I wish the game felt like it did in TBC...it was nice to have to get my fix. Now, it's just "meh"

Actually, I cancelled my account a few weeks ago, and renewed it only because I was asked to join a raid and my time ran out mid-raid. I accidentally clicked three months, not one month, because Blackout (the Firefox mod) made the page bug out. I expect most people to regard this as an excuse; that's a logical assumption, and I don't expect my statement to the contrary to convince anyone.

I had renewed at all only because I had hoped that I would stick with that 10-man group as a going concern, but it's disintegrated, and I don't really have anywhere to go in this game atm. I am striving to complete my limited objectives before the three-month period is up. Again, something of a rationalization - I don't really want to quit - but as you said, there's not really much reason to keep playing.

I want to get 2200 rating for fear they will remove the Wrathful tabard at some point should I later want to renew sub, and I want to finish my Defender title (I need only Al'akir) , and to finish getting my Dark Phoenix and guild herald pets because I am very close to achieving those objectives and might as well finish.

I would like an invite to a guild that has the Dark Phoenix mount and level guild rep to exalted; that, at least, might keep me logging on even occasionally till that period runs out. If that doesn't materialize, when I get my pets, yeah, I'm done.

Maybe you'll luck out and they'll release next patch before your time runs out and you can grab the mounts too.

Whoa. Thought i was on MMO champ forums for a minute. I will renew my sub as long as i can do it with in game gold. Which has worked for a few months now.

That's cool...the money thing isn't a big deal...I mean $15 is whatever...but if I'm not playing at all, I'd rather not waste it. I guess if I could renew with in-game gold I would keep the subscription going...but then again, I don't play enough to make that kind of gold...so...it's a chicken/egg situation.

The game is bad now, there is no point in playing.

I think one big problem is the LFD feature. While it is great for casuals...it basically allows you to become too casual.

What do I mean?

Back in the day, I had to sit and build heroic groups myself. This meant I had a much greater reliance on guildies, building relationships, knowing who is good and who is a scrub in trade chat, etc. With LFD, I found the last few guilds I was in...I didn't get as "plugged in"...I simply logged on, joined the random queue and did my daily. I never formed any relationships with the randoms because most are from different servers.

After a while...I just found myself asking..."okay, what's the point?" Wasting time while wasting time is the worst thing. I wasn't plugged into my guild, and wasn't on enough to raid...so then it became "why log on and do the same dungeons over and over to get badges for gear I won't really be using. For that matter, I'll just replace it with the next patch anyway."
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I think, for me, the game has just gone through too many growth cycles. Couple that with the general deterioration of the community as a whole (fostered by LFD, smaller guilds with the rise of 10 mans, etc.) and there's just no reason to keep playing. It shocks me that I used to be able to sit down and play WoW for hours and hours in a day. I can't do that now.

When I log on, everything feels like a job.

1. I could go farm for this mount...boring
2. I could go do a bunch of quests I've already done to get rep for this alt...boring
3. I could level another character...I hate leveling...also kinda boring when I've seen most of the content
4. I could do a heroic for the 1111th time...boring
5. I could PvP...lose constantly, get pwnt because I'm a shadowpriest with no resil...and deal with tons of botters in BGs...no thanks
6. I could farm mats for gold on the AH...boring, and what would I buy with the gold? BoE epics? Okay....boring.

I also stopped smoking mary jane...perhaps that has something to do with it. Being stoned and listening to music made farming bearable...now I just can't grind anymore. I just can't.

TL,DR: I agree with you Jubber...what is the point?

I feel like raiding simply isn't casual enough. I'm basicly not allowed to raid with who I want because they're just not good enough. That and I don't want to join another guild so I'm stuck trying to pug. Spoiler: Pugging doesn't happen anymore due to how "hard" the content is. I kinda miss the Wrath raid set up (Easy normal mode, much harder heroic modes) but perhaps that was a bad model because there was no middle ground between hard and easy. I just want to be able to raid with my friends.

PvP I think you'd enjoy more if you were better at it.

Sadly I too feel bored though with the game when my friends aren't on, luckily I have TF2 to entertain me!

I finally have a computer that gets more than 5 fps in a raid setting but my net's decided to go on vacation for the past 2-3 months and I don't have the money to get an upgrade. So I basically log in to talk with friends.

Agreed. I guess there's just a barrier to entry with that. I have to farm BGs to get better resil, which will let me survive longer and give me more time to figure out what the hell to do, rather than just dying all the time. But, BGs are generally terrible (with like half the teams being bots now), and I'm not willing to cheat...and I don't have a "good" arena team...so yeah.

Basically, I'm competitive enough that I wouldn't be happy losing as much as I'd need to lose before I could start getting better and seeing gains.

Could say the same about PvE. And that can be fixed at least as easily.
