I liked fucking Morrigan on my mega-mustached ginger dwarf in DAO, mostly because I found the physics of that relationship to be hilarious and the constant "I don't give a fuck" face my guy always had.

Also, I'm going to petition a dwarf character for DA2.

PS: I really liked this review of it.

Anyone else entirely frustrated with waves of dudes constantly spawning with no end in sight? I wasn't aware that every single gang had 50 or so people that came out in groups of 10, usually around my mages after I established a great chokepoint with my melee.

I played the demo today on teh Xbox 360. I wasn't really impressed... but then again, I haven't been a fan of any modern Bioware epics... ME, ME2, DA and now DA2. I guess I'm done with 'em.

I'm doing my second playthrough as an archer on hard and I'm an inch away from ragequitting, mainly because of mindless waves fucking up my entire strategy and this thing (that never happened in my first playthrough) where my ranged will run to a corner of a room and just run in place for literally no reason.

Its a shame too because if there was one company I could trust with spending my money on, it was Bioware. And here I am with this unfinished, rushed, and buggy version of the game I wasted $60 on. I absolutely love the story and the characters and the combat (besides the "we're gonna jump your mages and there's literally nothing you can do about it if scythe isn't up), but it really needed more time to become an awesome game.

I don't really understand the reception Dragon Age 2 is getting. It's the same as the first game, except the combat is actually fun instead of being comparable to driving nails very slowly through your testicles. Also, Varric.

Set up your tank to primarily protect your mage since you can actually run around and it's very easy to kite things until pinning shot is off cooldown. Exploding arrow with smokescreen is a godsend and so is glyph of paralyze/repulsion. Ever since I did that on my game, my mage and rogue don't get one shotted anymore since they usually group up together and the glyphs will more or less keep any enemies at bay until the tank can run over and pick them up or I cleave them to death on Hawke.

I have one question: how long is it? I'll probably get it for a console but time is not abundant :(

I think it's partly because people were still hoping DA would turn into BG3. Also, ~20 hour playthrough sounds pretty good - I never replayed the original because it was far too long.

so they took dragon age origins, put in wow's smooth combat system, and put in mass effect's conversation system?

sounds good to me.
