helps avoid a panic.

Here's mine:

I'm beaming radiation into your eyes right now. It's even looks like "I'm beaming radiation into your eyes right now."

The message got carried by radiation to my router, it probably also arrived to your PC by radiation, and it's reaching your eyes through radiation.

The radiation being talked about here is ionizing though (energized enough to shake or even knock off particles off of atoms), I just wanted to point out the fact that it's often a scary word and it's the quantity - and "type", that's important. Not the word. (but it's the bad type over there, obviously :P)

well obviously.

Probably something that traps some air in (slower replacement by irradiated air) and is better than being out in the open. (like most houses)

A third explosion (hydrogen ignition?) has been reported, but no data on that yet. High probability of a containment vessel having been damaged though (reported), here's a (overreactive IMO) reporting by NYT: http://www.nytimes.com/2011/03/15/world ... ml?_r=1&hp

With regard to the behavior of radiation, we are saying the same thing about the relevant factors.

I mentioned the currencies because what matters is the currency of the lender. I didn't say that our government would be loaning money, sorry if I gave you that misimpression. My views were framed in terms of money markets, not the federal debt (although higher interest rates on T-bills as a result of massive loans to Japan would certainly a direct result of that).

In any event, give it a few months and we'll know the whole story. Or at least most of it.

Now THIS is more like the Aestu I've been spending time with recently!

The only thing that really made me sad about leaving WoW is that I was actually spending time with people who weren't just random, and you were one of them, and I think we were having a good time, and you weren't nearly so bad as people kept saying.

That's more than one thing, but it all falls under the same heading.

Jubber

Chief Cabinet Secretary Yukio Edano said "Now we are talking about levels that can impact human health." He stressed that such levels were recorded at the plant and that the "further away you get from the power plant or reactor, the value should go down".

Some sort of conspiracy seems to be afoot. The Japanese government is shilling for Aestu's forum wars. He's probably spamming F5 on FUBU from the war room.

I'll even bet you he has a reserve down on three copies of J-WoW.

I don't believe I said anything about radiation getting lower the further you go from a leaking reactor.

It's entirely possible that the reactor is the safest place to be during a nuclear meltdown, if it's further from the sun's corona than the shopping mall ten miles away.

ok, so now I've linked an anime thread back into this thread, and tossed that one into the fray, so I think we're back on Japan, right?
