Heard that hypothesis before, and I agree with parts of it. The "urge" to go from one thing to another (one territory to another for example) would definitely be beneficial for a hunter in a hunter-gatherer society. I had argued with the guy who came up with it (he ran a radio show) that autism would benefit the gatherer, and there's a logical connection there too, especially considering the fact of the amount of people affected by both.
The problem is that neither are beneficial in current society - well, some aspect are beneficial to certain occupations (science, military are some that I could see - I experience the first), some aspects are absolutely terrible for some aspects of life (education, organization of time, planning future events, remembering to take out the trash).
