You got the jist what I was trying to say for the most part but here is one thing I'll reply to

I wasn't talking about this thread. This section of FUBU is fine as is. I was talking more of an additional section of FUBU (Read: FUBU, This Section, Shitfest and a new addition) where you and those you deem worthy (either by yourself or by community vote in the new section) are the only ones allowed to post and/or read.

If Shitfest would be a Necra Circlejerk section, then this new section could be viewed as a Mayo Circlejerk section. It would just give those who want it (and you want to have it) an additional section they can post on without having to worry about my shenanigans or Aestu's derailing or Dagery's beard.

It could be a bad idea in seperating the community even more but least it could be good in the sense that those you want to will have less of a reason to bitch.

Another possible option is simply make a no thread derailing rule or include it if it's not already and issue warnings/split threads as yu see fit.

As I've said before a few times now, the mods and yourself do a pretty solid job. I think what would help the board is some fresh blood but in addition to being tough to get without advert, I believe it would make yalls job harder. If you wish I can try to advertise a little either in trade or on the forums, I recall you saying something about using doing so but I don't recall if you still want that or what.

Thread derailing is fine IMO, most often than not, it ends up with two topics being discussed. I'm not interested in half the stuff being discussed but evidently some are. Makes it a bit harder for a newcomer to the thread to know what is going on but he can deal with it. (the alternative is splitting everytime, or a rule where only the topic in the thread title can be discussed - if you try to moderate that, you will be safe to invoke occam's razor on the new method within a day)

edit2: also, someone who starts a thread can specify in a post if they don't want their thread derailed, before, as it happens or something. I've seen that once (where I was the guilty party) and people obeyed that wish and it went back on track. In other instances, people participate in the "derailed subject" and unless there's a complaint, everything's good.

Obviously it's when it's derailed into the same topic everytime that it becomes annoying to a few (or many) users. That being said, I don't see any "new rule" being necessary. Maybe a fucking reminder to be civil in discussions once in a while, or in an announcement?

Just take the Atheism thread as an example, now that was one where debate was good (and slightly heated), and both sides learned from each other and slightly moved their viewpoints as a result, with minimal BS or non-civilized communication. That was good times. Plus, it was a religion vs lack thereof thread, which when two sides are present, usually turns to shit in any online community. Not here. (edit4: when you gain respect for someone with the opposite viewpoint in a debate (that happened for me, towards a few members), it's usually a sign that it was good and constructive as opposed to a shitstorm)

edit: or hell, in online communities I've been part of, just a mention of someone being a homo attracted at least one homophobic remark. Not here. This is obviously a good community on the right track, heh - especially considering the variety of unique different opinions and viewpoints about various issues.

edit3: We obviously don't want a tight ass community, the openness and friendly fucking around is probably an aspect of why people keep coming here I'd think. Correct me if I'm wrong?

So far I think you've changed your opinion 2 or 3 times in this thread just so you could continue complaining. Hell, I don't even know what you're arguing anymore and I frankly don't care.

If that isn't the definition of "bitching", then I don't know what is. Its ok though, keep on going with your crusade for FUBU freedoms against some sort of ridiculous enemy that doesn't exist. I've already asked your for constructive feedback and I've heard dick, so you keep on trying to pat yourself on the back and pretend you aren't throwing a temper tantrum for the sake of it.

I think you're confused, and/or you're overlooking how often I've actually been in support of a proposed action (Meowth's filter ban, for example, since it broke one of our very few rules). I have made input when we've discussed changes to the board, and probably the one time I disagreed with you over board issues that anyone could recall was when I said that if people wanted to be 'faggots' that was fine, but forcing it on every mod was excessive (I only bring that up now as an example--don't want to rehash).

To be fair, it's probably hard to separate the various people who have complained about any given thing over time, because you're right, there have been a lot of complaints.

Do you think that I honestly think that it matters, or that it matters to me if anyone thinks that Aestu thought that it mattered enough to him that he should vote in this poll?
