We often joke about pr0n. I'm sure everyone on this forum has fapped to some form of pornography in their lifetime. Porno is an interesting subject because there are so many societal questions that crop up because of it. I know my first "exposure" to pornographic was the softcore stuff they had on Cinemax...I must have been like 10. Soon after that was when the internet really started to be everywhere and as the Avenue-Q song goes "The Internet is for Porn".......something I soon discovered is very true. Pretty much since then, I've been looking at porn and fapping. That's a good 14 years of fapdom. So now for some discussion points to get your minds turning:

Can there be negative psychological effects from porn viewing? IE: Does viewing hardcore pr0n a ton mean you'll be the next Ted Bundy?

Does it have an effect (positive or negative) on relationships with women, and how men view them? Sex drive? Sexual desires?

Is porn, and the availability of it, hurting society as a whole?

Do you think porn viewing has negatively affected anything in your life?

Some claim many men are "addicted" to porn (again fostered by the availability on the internet), do you believe this?

Should the government censor internet porn sites?

As for the female pornographic actors themselves - do you ever feel "bad" for them? Many (not all) were sexually abused in their youth - others grew up in tumultuous households and lives of stripping/poverty -- and somehow they ended up getting banged by 3 dudes for some quick cash.

There's some pretty rough stuff out there - what does it say about society that women (and men) would partake in such things? Should these things be legal?

Religion aside - is pornography immoral?

Pornogrophy does seem like an issue for some people, but its not possible to get rid of. I was watching true life: im addicted to porn before, and it can get further then I would ever think. One married man was watching it and addicted to it, but had a wife and kid. Personally, but many might deny this due to what they believe in, when you're married, porn shouldn't be necessary or wanthing to do so. You have a wife, odds are you look pretty pathetic in her eyes, and unsatasfying for her.

I can understand people watching it in moderation, but it shouldn't be a 'lifestyle.' But, im 16, too, I can't predict what older aged men and women do. Just bored in spanish!

Porn does kill your sex drive, but I think its the matter of jizzing frequently as opposed to the actual porn itself. Going without a week of porn will make you want to fuck everything in sight. I imagine if its viewed at a very impressionable age (the hardcore/bondage shit) that it can mess someone up.

Does porn fuck up society as a whole? Ask Europe. When I was in Germany their phone sex ads qualify as softcore porn here and the hardcore shit (read: dicks) was readily available in a couple hotels I was in.

Porn is a stress-reliever and I'm pretty sure has been proven to reduce the likelihood of rape (don't quote me on this). A society without porn would be worse off than one with.

I got matched with a girl on Eharmony that had viewing porn listed as a "Can't Stand" for her. I told Akina, and her reaction was "wtf, who doesn't like porn?"

I agree with Akina. Who doesn't like porn?

I'd like to know who a girl ends up getting gang banged by three dudes dressed as pterodactyls, or a fat chick getting banged by a guy in a Jabberjaw suit, or a girl with a guy in one of those fucked up mall easter bunny costumes, or how a girl ends up with a maraka in her ass then being told to "shake it for me baby" then proceeding to shake the maraka followed by "Ariba!", or want a circle of like 20 dudes to pummel her face and the top of her head with their dicks as if she was some sort of whorish drumset.

Tell me how those come up. Are people just sitting around trying to think of the wierdest shit to do or what? I just don't even....

You view messed up porn because you're already messed up, it doesn't go vice versa.

Does it have an effect (positive or negative) on relationships with women, and how men view them? Sex drive? Sexual desires?
Depends on how much of a freak she is.

Is porn, and the availability of it, hurting society as a whole?
No. Quite the opposite I've heard, but I have no hard proof on. Supposedly rape dropped pretty drastically when internet porn came about.

Do you think porn viewing has negatively affected anything in your life?
Nope.

Some claim many men are "addicted" to porn (again fostered by the availability on the internet), do you believe this?
The way this is stated sounds like there's a lot of stereotyping - "many men are addicted to porn (because all men are pigs lol". Anyway, there's people addicted to everything enjoyable.

Should the government censor internet porn sites?
No. What's the purpose of stopping adults from seeing adult things? And once you start, where do you stop?

As for the female pornographic actors themselves - do you ever feel "bad" for them? Many (not all) were sexually abused in their youth - others grew up in tumultuous households and lives of stripping/poverty -- and somehow they ended up getting banged by 3 dudes for some quick cash.
No. They're getting paid to fuck. I wish I could get paid to fuck.

There's some pretty rough stuff out there - what does it say about society that women (and men) would partake in such things? Should these things be legal?
Define "rough stuff"

Religion aside - is pornography immoral?
Is anybody hurt? Feelings don't count.
Is anybody being dishonest?
Is anybody benefiting at the expense of someone else?

Nope, nope, nope.
So.
Nope.

I don't see porn as dangerous if the viewer has a clear understanding of what it is and what purpose it serves (thinking kids seeing it). However, some points:

Quote:
Some claim many men are "addicted" to porn (again fostered by the availability on the internet), do you believe this?

My senior year in HS I worked at a small independent video store. We had a back room with adult movie rentals. On Tuesdays we would get a new shipment of tapes and without fail every Tuesday the same guys would be in. They would know exactly which ones were new and which ones they hadn't seen before. They were completely addicted, they would be in multiple times a week, often never going without a movie, returning one and renting another. Most memorable was a guy who would routinely rent a movie when we first opened and return it on his lunch break that same day.

Another thing about working at the store was the downtime. We weren't all that busy of a place and we would get various industry magazines. I don't know why a magazine for the adult movie industry would publish the interviews with their stars, but I would read a lot of stories about some pretty fucked up stuff happening to the actresses when they were young. I would say this isn't as true as it used to be though, since there is way, way, way more porn made now than there was a decade ago. However, after seeing the guys get addicted to the stuff, the disgusting smell of that un-ventilated back room, and reading about the stars getting gang-raped at the age of 12, kinda put me off porn for a while.
